Fantastic purchase!
by magnusjohnson on November 23, 2010
Pros: Perfect for just about all applications, fantastic sound, weight NOT an issue if you don't wear them for 147 hours straight.
Cons: The cord could be a couple of feet longer.

Summary: I've had these for well over a year now, and have had no issues whatsoever with them. PAINLESS setup, just plug the optical cable into your PS3, XBXOX, etc and go. Bought a second pair to watch movies with the wife while the baby is asleep and we couldn't be happier with them. Not sure how anyone could complain about the weight of them, that's kind of surprising, and makes me think that someone may need to get a bit of exercise and not sit on the couch all day and night playing games... Just a thought.
In any case, these were definitely a great purchase, and when/if they go bad I'll be buying a replacement from Tritton because my experience so far has been nothing but positive.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Amazing quality headphones with sub-par quality cables.

Peformance
PC and console compatible
High quality voice chat with independent voice and game volume controls
5.1 simulated Dolby Pro-Logic Surround Sound
Pretty comfortable
PRICE!Cons: Sub-par cables
The voice chat cable for 360 is terrible, solved by purchasing a new one, which is cheap but inconvenient

Summary: I love these headphones. They're great for gaming, but also for music among other things. Really gives movies a cinematic quality. Purchased these for 360 and PC gaming, not only for the gaming advantages they present, but also so that I wouldn't wake up my family in neighboring rooms of my house during late nights. These are basically Astro headsets with everything but the high price tag. I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone in the market for good, high quality headphones with voice compatibility, surround sound, and a price that won't break the bank. Owned the AX360s before this, and am now a proud owner of these AX720s.

Gamers must have. Great, lifelike surround sound

Summary: I own PS3, XBox360, and PC Games and bought these so not to wake up people when late night gaming and as a replacement to the crappy 360 headset. I've only used these on xbox 360 so far.
The surround sound is excellent eg I can hear people sneaking up behind me in BFBC2. In some online reviews there's comments about the AX720's not having a good bass sound but I haven't found that at all eg BFBC2 sounds like a full raging battlefield with deep exposion sounds. These headsets are light and very comfortable. I have no discomfort from wearing them for long sessions.
Don't be put off by all the wires. The instructions are easy enough to follow and there's lots of youtube clips on setting them up if you need any more help. Main point is that an XBox 360 may need an optical adaptor, unlike the PS3 which has optical out built in, and if you're in Oz you'll need a power convertor ($12).
The mic is nice and sturdy. The clarity of other people talking on online isfine and the adjustable volume control between mic and game sounds is easy to access.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Excellent gaming solution for the late night gaming dad
by dpruitt1 on April 18, 2010
Pros: Dolby Digital 5.1 is very crisp and clear and each channel can be uniquely heard. Wasn't a believer until my first night of Battlefield Bad Company 2. Was able to isolate where players were shooting from easily in shooter games.
Cons: The mic seems to pop a bit if you move abruptly or wiggle the connection akwardly. The optical cable provided is short and of low quality, but provides it function if all devices are within close proximity.
Summary: If open surround sound is not an option for you when you game, these headphones will provide the punch you need. The Dolby Digital 5.1 is very crisp and ...
Summary: If open surround sound is not an option for you when you game, these headphones will provide the punch you need. The Dolby Digital 5.1 is very crisp and clear and each channel can be uniquely heard. Personally, I felt the low frequency sounds were effective as well. If you are a gaming dad that has to choose your gaming times carefully, the AX720 will not disappoint.

Summary: I had Intended to buy the AXpro model from Tritton But found it backordered at Best Buy so I decided to down grade to this model. After minimal setup I was amazed to find the clarity and response. I had difficulty for the first hour or so adjusting not only to hearing voice chat in both ears but the amazing surrond sound these provided. I game primarily at night when my wife and kids are asleep and theese afford me the oppurtunity to enjoy full surrond and high volume late into the night something I was only able to do when the house was empty. I love the in-line adjustments for volume. The wires are worth the hassle as the sound and immersion is awesome I highly recomend these to anybody lokking for a solid solution for gaming where noise is a consideration.

by dctech08 on October 16, 2009
Pros: Wired, yes i said wired. no batteries or charging to deal with. Good sound. Works with xbox 360 and ps3. great mic input quality. looks cool (in a nerdy way)
Cons: wired, yes i said wired again. cord length is good but if i gotta walk across the room i gotta take em off. (i do this often) didn't like the sound i got while watching movies. its hard to describe other than saying it sounded hollow.cost.

Must have if you own multiple systems.
by lyricalysound on August 3, 2010
Pros: Can be used for both the 360 and the PS3. Sound quality is on par with my current surround sound setup. Great headphone design, not heavy at all.
Cons: The wires are somewhat of a nuisance but if you can look past that then it's not really an issue. The amp feels like it could break if you drop it more than 2 feet.
Summary: I have to disclose that I've only owned 720 for a week so I can not comment on its durability. What I can comment on is that the sound ...
Summary: I have to disclose that I've only owned 720 for a week so I can not comment on its durability. What I can comment on is that the sound quality is excellent. Very convenient for when you can't have the noise too loud because the neighbors might complain. The mic is excellent, I've only received good comments on the sound quality so far. You can also choose to detach the mic or put it on mute on those occasions when you're playing horribly and cursing like a sailor and you don't want your friends to hear...
I've tested quite a few games on it and so far I've been impressed. In God of War 3 I felt so immersed in the game that I completely everything and everyone around me. Call of Duty 5 on the Xbox was equally impressive. I never really heard the mini firefights in the distance until I put on this headset. I've yet to watch a movie with this headset on so I can't say how it performs in that scenario.
So... if you can get past the fact that it's all wired, and you have both a PS3 and 360, then you should definitely buy the 720. I was at Best Buy for an hour debating this or the Turtle Beach headsets and I don't regret going for the former.1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Very good headphones, however poor quality cables.
by Whishfulthought on November 24, 2011
Pros: Crisp bass
Higher frequency response than Dr.Dre Beats
Pre-Amp really cleans up the sound
Do really well as regular headphones
Great priceCons: Poor quality cables
Cable is too long to be portable
Headband is a little loose
After long use the headphone pads get pretty moist and sweaty
Have to pay warranty shippingSummary: I've had mine for about four months currently only complaint is that the inline cable seems to have a pretty loose connection and Tritton do not make replacements anymore ...
Summary: I've had mine for about four months currently only complaint is that the inline cable seems to have a pretty loose connection and Tritton do not make replacements anymore kind of a bummer mine are kind of a crappy paperweight however they are still epic gaming or music headphones.
