The good: The Motorola H17txt is a small and compact headset with a flip-switch boom mic, a decent fit, and good call quality. It also has multipoint technology and it only needs a 15-minute charge for 2 hours of talk time. MotoSpeak compatibility helps users to effectively manage incoming text messages while driving.
The bad: The Motorola H17txt has tiny volume controls. A2DP audio streaming is less than ideal given the device's single-speaker design.
The bottom line: The Motorola H17txt is a simple headset with good sound quality for most everyday situations.

Happy with Phone features, but....

Pros: call on 2nd line beeps in quietly (though I've never switched from one phone to the other)
Battery level warnings
"phone 1 connected" "phone 2 disconnected" - warnings are helpful
Cons: uncomfortable ear hook
speaker generates heat and kinda burns my ear if worn too long

Summary: After using this for 2 months is has developed a funny problem! Everytime I take a call on my blackberry, after I terminate the call, my ipod (from my iPhone) starts playing in my ear. Prior to the using the BB, I am not using the iPod. I have checked the iPhone before I place my BB calls and the iPod indicator is off. I dont' know what is triggering it to play! So, it's not a terrible thing, but you should be prepared for it and keep your volume moderate.

Nice headset but I couldn't get it to work

Pros: For me it was comfortable and would stay flat on my ear.
Cons: I purchased mine at the ATT store. After charging it turned on and worked fine. After leaving it on the counter it would not turn on the next morning. This happened to 3 headsets that ATT replaced.

Uncomfortable!

Pros: Good quality sound.
Cons: All 3 over the ear hooks hurt. The 2 ear pads are extremely hard to put on.

Limited features not worth the extra money

Pros: Nice looks, clear headset voice, reads text messages, easy on and off switch
Cons: One trick pony. Costs additional yearly fee to use included features. Downloaded app doesn't add any more features.

Summary: I had high hopes, I had a Motorola Droid, the Motospeak app and this headset thinking everything would work well. As is, it doesn't do anything better than other headsets. Motospeak, which isn't even Motorola's app (you can get it for free from drivesafe.ly) announces callers when NOT connected to the headset. When connected, the headset reads texts...a minute after they're sent, but doesn't allow you to respond or do any voice operated features. You can get some extra features by paying Motorola an additional $14/yr., but still no voice calling. Why pay $100 for a headset, and then pay a yearly fee to use it? By the way the monthly fee allows you to have a couple more features, but still the headset comes up short compared to what it could be doing. P.S. This is the fourth version of the H17txt, save your money and get a H15 instead.
