Solid Choice
by connada123 on June 27, 2008
Pros: Reliable, light, with pretty good quality sound
Cons: Slight static in the back ground, doesn't use regular mini usb charger (such as moto and blackberry).
Summary: This is my first bluetooth headset (please keep that in mind while reading my review), and overall I'm very happy with it.

It's not flashy or high style, it's actually quite plain, although clean, which is a look I can appreciate.
It was very easy to set up and connect with my phone, I haven't had any connection issues at all.
The controls are very intuitive, if I can figure them out, you know it's pretty simple. I believe it supports voice dialing, although I've never used this feature. I have used the redial function, and call waiting function though, and they both worked just as advertised.
Nobody I've spoken with has reported poor sound quality on the other end, even though I've asked numerous people, "Do I sound ok?". I haven't spoke with anyone while standing in a windy gust though, all my calls are generally in low noise environments (although I have used it in my car with the windows down, and it worked just fine).
The sound on my end has been pretty good. I haven't had any problem hearing anyone, although I have noticed a slight static in the background. I don't know what this is from. It hasn't been an issue for me, but I guess it could bother an audiophile.
The fit of the device to my ear is pretty good. I feel confident that it's not going anywhere, and it's comfortable. I don't wear it while I walk around the mall though, only long enough to take my calls.
It seems to have good battery life. I believe it's suppose to last 7 hours of talk time, and 180 hours of standby. I generally go about 4 or 5 days between charges, and have yet to have the low battery indicator flash. I don't talk on my phone for long periods of time though, so this will obviously differ from person to person.
My biggest problem with this headset, and it's a small one, is that the charger is different than the simple mini usb. I guess it's a version of the mini usb, but not the one that seems to work with my digital camera, gpd device (tom tom), and black berry. I'd love to be able to just use one cord for all of these, but now I've got this other cord I've got to keep around... Again, not an issue, but nearly enough for me to return the device. Actually, I did return the device to get a moto H500 with my preferred charger, but then quickly returned that when I noticed the audio quality was lacking compared to the Plantronics Explorer 360, and re-bought the 360.
Overall, this is a low profile, clean looking, solid, and reliable performing bluetooth headset. It's like a Honda Civic of headsets.6 out of 6 users found this user opinion helpful.

Bang for buck perfection!
by Teh_Spork on July 8, 2009
Pros: Features: better control of volume and power. Size: although bigger than my Plantronics basic, still was comfortable. Price: $30 at Phoenix Best Buy, same price as my old basic Plantronics unit.
Cons: No cons whatsoever.
Summary: After losing my $30 Plantronics cheapie Bluetooth at Phoenix Sky Harbor after landing last week, I ducked into Best Buy to get another (that and for the air conditioning, LOL). ...
Summary: After losing my $30 Plantronics cheapie Bluetooth at Phoenix Sky Harbor after landing last week, I ducked into Best Buy to get another (that and for the air conditioning, LOL). They had the Explorer 360 on the rack for $29.99. The decision made itself: I snagged it. It was bigger, but the feel was balanced and non-intrusive, and it has better range than the old one. And conservatively stylish! You can't beat this deal. Highly recommended.

After 12-18 Months of minimal, it just died....

Summary: After it just stopped turning on (I read up on this and it apparently happens with this model) I can't really suggest this product to anyone. I don't like to throw $$ away on anything let alone electronics like this. I didn't always use it and that is most frustrating about the fact that it just died. If I was using it all the time then I would understand but that is NOT the case here!

A good basic headset
by doczorro on May 13, 2010
Pros: This was my 1st headset and I based my purchase on other reviews that showed plantronics has the best overall performance. The price, the quality, and the look was exactly what I wanted. The sound is clear and I've had no issues, the sound is clear.
Cons: I think they could have designed the plug in for the USB better, it's really tiny, and hard to open to plug it in. With that being the only "issue" I think this was a good buy for the money. I liked it's online rating, I like the fit and style.

Summary: I gave this a better than average rating. The sound is good as long as the headpiece is near the phone, the sound is good for clarity, and I had no issues for charing other than being difficult to plug in. The directions to use were simple and the design is very well engineered, I'd call it "user friendly". The style is modern and not "geeky", and compared to other cell phone headsets I think it was aptly named as "the Honda Civic of all headsets."
It's not the best out there, but it is WAY ahead of other "basic" headsets. If someone was getting one for their kid or as a new experiment, you can't beat Plantronics for the 360... it's GOOD. not too shabby. -
Basic, works, good price and easy to use.
by farmerslogic on April 5, 2010
Pros: Great for when I am treating horses. Snug fit and does not get in the way, hurt my ear or fall off.
Cons: Not at all good in wind or driving with window open. (Use the Voyager Pro when driving.)
Summary: Horses for courses. This Bluetooth is perfect for what I need it for- communication during physical work in stables. Stays where it should be (on my ear), long battery life ...

Good quality & features for the $. Insuff vol & range.
by jkirk1626 on March 5, 2010
Pros: Great price. Solid quality and features for the money. In the car with the windows up and the radio turned down, it was terrific. Cost about $30 at Best Buy during Feb 2010. Looks professional instead of pretentious.
Cons: -Volume inadequate.
-Unusable in moderate wind (no noise cancellation).
-Range (there was too much static for conversation when I left the phone in my car and wore my headset while filling up with gas).Summary: I would recommend buying this headset if you planned using it in quiet environments within arm's length of your phone. Summary: I would recommend buying this headset if you planned using it in quiet environments within arm's length of your phone. This would be a great choice for complying with hands-free device traffic-laws such as on a military post/base. If you want a bluetooth headset to use in ambient noise above a quiet room, this is not the right choice and you'll probably have to shell out for a higher end unit.
The volume was inadequate even with the volume turned up full blast on both the headset and Motorola Droid running Android 2.0.1. The Plantronics Explorer 360 was unusable in moderate wind such as walking across a parking lot. Forget about having your car window down. Lack of noise cancellation exacerbated problems with the headset's weak speaker volume. When I tried to leave the phone in my car and wear my headset while filling up with gas or looking under the hood, there was too much static for conversation. -
5 stars for sound. 3 stars for design flaw
by mapblackburn on December 25, 2009
Pros: Great sound in and out
Cons: Rubber USB port protector cover annoying. Difficult to open. I need tweezers. I hate to have to tear the cover off, but eventually I just might.
Summary: Buy it. It sounds great and your receiver doesn't complain either. Just get ready to be annoyed by the usb protector cover.
