The good: The Plantronics Explorer 395 is a comfortable and easy-to-use Bluetooth headset with a dedicated power switch and an affordable price.
The bad: We wish the Plantronics Explorer 395 came with extra earbud sizes. It doesn't have very good noise-canceling features.
The bottom line: The Plantronics Explorer 395 is a great entry-level Bluetooth headset, as long as you stick to quieter environments.

Piece of crap, wouldn't recommend it!
by jpassinetti on July 31, 2010
Pros: 2 things, easy to sync, and ear piece has tiny rubber thing that goes into your ear canal which many headsets don't have.
Cons: 1. Quit working after a month of use. 2. Not loud enough, can hardly hear people on full volume while driving on freeway. 3. People can't hear you very well while driving, picks up back ground noise. Doesn't fit on ear very well, falls off easy.
Summary: I am pissed I paid $50 for a headset and it quit working after a month first of all. It's not loud enough and people cant hear you over ...

Generally like, but it it is unreliable
by winchperry on July 29, 2011
Pros: I like the look, fit and feel of it and the sound when, it is working fine. And the price was great.
Cons: Suddenly, in the middle of a conversation, the sound will become garbled and I have to quickly turn it off and hold my phone to my ear, telling my caller to hold on because I can't hear them. Then, after I turn it back on the next call is fine. This happe
Summary: I'm wondering if I just got a bad one and I should exchange it, or if I should pay more for a better model.

Summary: Been using BT headsets since 2004. I?ve had most every make and literally dozens of models. I?ve recently been a fan of BlueAnt headsets but their ear loop system is crap. What good is sound quality if you can't keep the stupid thing in your ear?
Anyway, I'd had good luck with Plantronics in the past, so I decided to give them another shot. I really like the looks of this one - not too big but big enough to handle ? and smaller than the longer, bullet-shaped design for which Plantronics is famous. It has a sleek chrome and black finish, making it a surprisingly sexy little earpiece in my opinion.
Best of all, it actually fits securely in and on my ear without feeling like it's falling off or sliding off the hook. (I don't like the ear-canal-only fit.) All the BlueAnts I had would wear out the hole where the ear loop slides, making it virtually useless. I spent too much time fiddling with it on my ear, trying to get it to stay put. So ?hands-free? became too much ?hands-on?.
I use the 395 on the road and everywhere else. Some reviewers have complained about low sound volume or other sound issues, but I haven't experienced any of that?in fact, quite the opposite. I drive about 30 minutes each way for my job at highway speeds, and I've been able to hear just fine. Moreover, the people on the other end have all told me it sounded much better than my higher-end BlueAnts (T1, Z9i, etc.) My wife tells me it sounds like I?m just talking on my phone (BlackBerry Torch 9800).
In summary, it doesn?t have the high end features of many devices nowadays. But to me, it does very well what a BT headset is supposed to do: gives me good sound quality, fits securely, and looks pretty darn nice doing it. -
Not worth it. Not loud enough
by watsongm on May 26, 2010
Pros: On/off switch.
Cons: Not loud enough, it would disconnect and connect repeatedly when I had my phone in my pocket. I had to put my phone in my shirt pocket.

Summary: I have had this product for a week. When trying to use it in a crowded mall food court I could barely hear. I had to keep asking the other party to repeat what they said. When using it a car going 75 mph on the freeway I could barely hear the other party. I had to strain to hear which took my concentration away from driving. This is the sole reason I got it because of the laws passed to ban cell phones without hands free calling. Do not buy it.
