The good: Lighter and less bulky than other boom-style headsets, the Plantronics Voyager Legend has superb audio quality and a well-crafted, comfortable design.
The bad: The Plantronics Voyager Legend's big boom mic arm isn't compact. Its ear tips don't form a tight audio seal.
The bottom line: The $99.99 Plantronics Voyager Legend big boom microphone isn't for the fashion conscious but its superb call audio quality and comfortable fit make it an excellent buy.

Outgoing audio: good. Incoming audio: No good.
by supermandru on January 13, 2013
Pros: Noise cancelation, battery life, and comfort are fantastic.
Cons: Incoming audio is typical of plantronics headsets. The audio on the receiving end is ridden with static, and cuts out constantly. The headset has extremely limited range.

Summary: This headset reminded me why I gave up Plantronics 3 years ago. The noise cancelation, and audio the Legend picks up is top notch. Extremely clear, and more than satisfactory.
The audio the user hears is horrible. For some reason it seems that when Plantronics started introducing A2DP profiles into their headsets is when receiver audio became an issue. My wife's Marque 2, Marque 1, my M1100, Legend, and Voyager Pro all suffer from the same issue. You put the phone in your pocket and you get static. You get more than 5 feet from the phone, and you get static. Heck, you put the phone on the opposite side of your head in relation to the headset, and you get static. However, you play an Mp3...its completely fine. It is only during calls that incoming audio is an issue.
I really wanted to like this headset, but I could not stand listening to callers on it. I used this headset for two week, on literally 10 different phones and had the same issues with each phone. I am sorely disappointed. I have used 15 bluetooths over the last 5 years or so and so far the Jawbone ERA has outperformed them all in overall quality, and features. I would not recommend this headset.4 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

Don't even waste your money with the idea.
by Lambogirl on March 11, 2013
Pros: Noise cancellation is great. Fiance and I both talk on a regular on bluetooth headsets and he said it was great.
Cons: User audio is TERRIBLE. I didn't find it to be comfortable with any of the fitted ear pieces (not necessarily their fault). Even with it being brand new i can't keep it paired even when i initiate a call from it!! It'll disconnect suddenly.

Summary: I agree one hundred percent with Supermandru. Didn't mean to buy it, I bought it on hammacher and schlemmer and had no idea it was platronics or i'd have not even given it a second thought. We've had platronics in the past and they're terrible. I've had it for 4 days. I'm packing it up tonight.. Even while the phone is ringing it's full of static and crackling. It's absolutely terrible, i can't hear half of the conversation we try to have.... I wouldn't pay $20 for this product

Does not work with iphone 5
by r9230 on January 1, 2013
Pros: Stays on ear, clear sound. Very good noixe cancelling overall. Hands free features are great. Control buttons well placed and easily accessed. Good product, pairs fast with phone.
Cons: Does not work fully with iPhone5. Ear gels do not fit into ear canal. Obtrusive, bulky, but functional, design. No protective case or holder (minor issue)

Summary: I am a former road warrior, have used BT devices for years. The Jabra BT250 was one of the best but is no longer made. Bought this one for the over-the-ear design since they don't tend to fall off your head/ear when you lean your head over. It is a great product and worth the dollars. I had a 4s and had no real problems with it but I upgraded to the 5 and that is where the problem lies. It simply does not work with the phone. It is not a 'user,' firmware, etc. problem...they are just not compatible. I read other reviews on the 5 issue but I had a 4s as noted. The Voyager cuts out in the middle of a call and you must switch back to your phone to hear and be heard. The callers voice will distort as if they are out of range. I heard a loud buzzing sound like someone was standing next to hair clippers but my caller could not hear it fortunately. I was really hoping that Plantronics and Apple had solved the problems but as of this date 1/1/2013 there has been no resolution. If you have a 4s again no problem. I want to keep the device but looks like my loving wife will be wearing it or you can buy mine if I sell it on ebay. The device is only 2.5 mos old.

Big disappointment
by hellidontknow on May 7, 2013
Pros: It didn't explode
Cons: CNET reviewed this POS as one of the best
I can't trust their reviews
Static and poor call quailty
Almost none of the features work or work properlySummary: Well I bought this POS based on reviews from CNET so I thought it appropriate to come back and let them know the error of their ways.

I not sure which one I am more disappointed in. I know that this thing reviewed well all over the internet and now it's hard to find a kind word about it.
Im having the same issues as everyone else only my noise cancelling doesn't work as well as most.
I had a Voyager Pro and it worked flawlessly.
Not the case with the Legend... It will be a legend in the history of headsets, like the Titanic, Burmuda Triangle, Corvair, the Flat hose etc. -

Summary: Big headache to not be able to update firmware. I have a Macbook Air and for an inexplicable reason Plantronics has chosen to ignore Apple users and make their updater software PC compatible only. To their credit Plantronics has set up a work around: they will replace the headset with a refurbished one with the latest firmware. Still, it's a hassle....

Sounds Very Familiar
by ericpacker on April 10, 2013
Pros: Love the fit! This was the first earpiece that I could wear all day and not be bothered with how it felt on my ear. I loved how the earbud didn't totally protrude inside my ear canal.
Cons: I Cant't Hear My Callers!

Summary: I can't rate the Voyager Legend because I don't have it but I do have the Pro+ and I was looking to upgrade to the Legend but after reading the reviews, I'm having 2nd & 3rd thoughts. The same issues that I'm having with the Pro+ are being reported on this forum for the Legend. I simply can't hear on this device and I don't remember it being that way when I first purchased. Initially, when I purchased this device, I was using it with an outdated Windows phone that it worked perfectly. It announced incoming calls into my ear as well as it announced my text messages. After I upgraded to an Android, I lost all of those features and when I'm on phone calls, I'm constantly checking the volume on my phone and the device searching for more volume. I'm in retail sales so I'm on the phone "all" day and many times I'm walking which means that wind-noise reduction is very important. I also conduct meetings in places where there's a lot of noise so volume and clarity is extremely important. Any suggestions?
