One major fault

Summary: I read all the reviews of these headphones and it was mentioned by another reviewer that the headband did not fit well. I went ahead and purchased a set anyway so I guess I only have myself to blame. The bottom line is that the size of the flexible headband causes the earphones to sit tightly on my ears and to pull against the back of my neck area. I've tried bending them to fit better with no luck. I can see no way to make any adjustments. This is a real shame because they function so nicely. I don't think that my head is any larger than average. And it was difficult getting used to the controls being on the left side but I got adjusted to that by the next day.
I really like these earphones except for the fit and now I have to put them back up for sale on eBay and hope that I can get most of my money back. Samsung, shame on you. Close but no cigar.14 out of 14 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great for the Active Listener But Poor Call Quality

Summary: I purchased these because I purchased a set of Motorola HT820. The HT820 looked ridiculous on, and would only pair with my Motorola Q not my Samsung M610 (the smaller phone that I wanted to use while exercising). So I purchased the SBH170 online (you can find em' for like $85 at the right time) They were super comfortable on, lacked the audio quality of the HT820 (but still pretty darn good). However, all the music buttons are confined on one earbud and you really have to "learn" which ones are which. GREAT headset for a quiet environment. But for quiet listening at home (where no one could see me) I'd have kept the HT820. But in the gym its noisy and unless you shout and increase the volume on the headset and phone to about max, the call quality is pretty bad for you and the receiver. Overall if you have a stereo bluetooth Samsung its a good choice in a new field of phone accessories.

Very uncomfortable, great otherwise

Summary: I made the mistake of buying these based on the glowing review. For the right person, meaning with the right sized head, these would be great. The sound is excellent. The controls on the left earpiece are easy enough to use by touch after you learn where they are. The controls include, starting from the left and moving around the top edge, volume, pause, next/previous song, on/off, charger jack. I use these with an LG VX8350.

OK product, poor support
by keithober on December 1, 2007
Pros: loud enough, compact to carry

Summary: Sound quality is good, and volume is loud enough. The Samsung.com customer support is absolutely embarrasing (they double-charged, and made me call back twice before forwarding the case to some corporate office). Its also a bit tricky to get the over-the-ear and behind-the-neck wire just right so that it is secure and comfortable. When exercising, a little sweat upsets the delicate setup on my head, and they slip off. Try the fit out at a store before purchasing, and don't count on using them during workouts. Avoid Samsung.com like the plague.

Works Great
by NYJetsFan1 on January 17, 2011
Pros: Quick and easy setup, Volume amplification, lightweight, Good sound, Great value.
Cons: Great headphones but although my girlfriend said she could hear my just fine while using these in the phone mode, the clarity on my end could be better. Not a big deal since I didn't get these for phone calls.
Summary: I bought these for 40 bucks including tax and I'm totally satisfied. They work as I hoped they would. I use these with my cell (Samsung Omnia II) while ...
Summary: I bought these for 40 bucks including tax and I'm totally satisfied. They work as I hoped they would. I use these with my cell (Samsung Omnia II) while at the gym. The setup was quick and easy. I most like that the headphones amplify the volume from my cell. Well worth the money I paid for them.

Horrible fit.
by dlflyboi on January 7, 2011
Pros: This is the worst pair of headphones I've ever owned. Just becuase of the comfort factor. My head isn't any larger than average and they pull on my ears. I hate these things.
Cons: Easy to connect. Decent sound. Great for the kids.
Summary: Does Samsung make these in adult sizes? LMAO

Pros: Pretty decent quality sound for a blue tooth connection. Great range around my entire 2,000 sq. ft. apartment from the paired base. Very easy to operate the various controls while wearing; great for hands free driving, walking or chilling out.
Cons: Unit has a strange fit which is not very snug or stable. It does take some bending of the ear hooks to get a comfortable fit. I would not recommend for use while exercising as they would fail to remain on your head; forget using them for jogging.
Summary: If Samsung were to devise a removable chin strap so as to create a snug and stable fit; the unit could be used while exercising which would, in my opinion, ...

This is the WORST stereo bluetooth headset ever made!!
by rgr1856 on July 5, 2009
Pros: Good sound, but otherwise a waste of money.
Cons: Awful fit, PERIOD! They won't stay on your head, and they pull your ears down when you wear them. When putting them on your fingers press the buttons on the top left earpiece which is VERY annoying. Samsung should reimburse everyone who buys them.
Summary: Buy something else

Compact, Comfortable, Clear
by gabvoice2 on November 21, 2008
Pros: I carry this inconspicuous headset every where I go (unlike my nerdy high end Plantronics). I use to listen to internet radio, MP3s, and videos on my Treo 755p with the help of audiogate software.
Cons: It sometimes picks-up incoming calls before I can decide (although the auto pickup is disabled.) It would be even less nerdy if the phone pads were more of a human ear shape. They are to round and puffy.
Summary: Since I snapped the spring band that holds the phone pads snug over my ears. I'm looking to buy a new one. There apparently is nothing as light, and ...
