Best...Headset...Ever

Summary: I have been on a quest for the perfect BT headset for several years now. I have been frustrated again and agin by either hard to use buttons (Jawbone), Poor quality on my end (Dragon call pod), poor quality on the other end (Call Pod again, and practically every headset but the Jawbone), or features that don't match up with my MOTO Q (like push to make a call) - This one has it all. I bought the Dragon Call Pod and the VMX 100 in the same day. Bought the Dragon first, got out to my car and tried it on - VERY POOR FIT - but I thought I'd give it a chance, so I drove up to the local mall and walked around for a bit - My friend on the other end couldn't hear me unless I was almost shouting. I had to switch back to my old and worn out Jabra! I stopped in to the Apple store where I saw this item - The sales person not only allowed me to pair it with my phone but also let me walk out in the mall with it on - I made another call and this time I was coming in loud and clear - AND I WAS BARELY ABOVE A WHISPER - I am not exaggerating here! It is a high quality item, excellent sound and all the features just work - Also, it is so light that one might forget he is actually wearing it. Sennheiser VMX 100, you complete me!

Great sound quality for user..less so for those called.
by LeoVale on January 19, 2010
Pros: Slick design, easy pairing and operation, comfortable, reasonable charge time.
Cons: Those I have called have noticed an echo of their voice, possibly caused by outward facing speaker sound being picked up by mic. Turning down volume on VX100 helps some, but then user may have trouble hearing in noisy environments.
Summary: Until those I call complain that "echo" makes it very difficult or unpleasant to talk to me, I'll continue to use it...especially while driving (which is why I ...

A great bluetooth
by skinnyflip on March 18, 2008
Pros: The pros of this unit are that it fits comfortably over the ear and nothing goes into your ear canal. May be worn either on the left or right ear. Hearing conversation over the phone is really great,
Cons: The cons is that the caller may hear themselves. When calling my girlfriend, she said that she could hear herself and a scratching noise. She didn't mind the echo, but the scratching noise is irritati

Summary: I've been always looking online for a bluetooth that may be better then the one I've had (Jabra JX-10). This particular bluetooth has caught my eye for the past month and now I finally have it and wanted to make an extensive review on it too.
I got my titanium Sennheiser VMX 100 from ebay with the winning bid of $55 and added $9 to shipping cost. If you plan to do the same, good luck, I haven’t seen any other sellers selling their VMX 100 for below $100.
The Sennheiser VMX 100 appearance may be compared to Plantronics Voyager 510SL. In terms of price however, the VMX is way cheaper. Anyway, according to the manual, the first charge should be 4 hours, then 2.5 to fully charge. There is no paring button, paring is done when it's turned on then you must search for it. A concern of mines was that anyone may be able to search for this particular bluetooth and pair their mobile phone to it, but there's a restore factory settings which should undo any unwanted parings.
Compared to my original bluetooth (jabra jx-10), the VMX 100 does exceed in comfort and sound quality. In durability however, I have dropped by Jabra JX-10 multiple times and it does no damage to the bluetooth. I don't know how the durability is on this, but overall, I'd say the VMX-100 seems far better then my jabra jx-10. I haven’t tested customer service, but I don’t think I’ll need to with this unit. Obviously there will be ware and tare, even so I’ll be happy to either buy this again or keep searching for one which seems as if it could be better then this.
A concern you may think of is if this is adjustable to any size ear. I’ve measured my ear and it came out to about 5cm. The measurement of the gap of the top and bottom of the VMX-100 is also about 5cm. I’ve tried imagining how adjustable this is to smaller or bigger ears, it does seem like it would be, but honestly I have no clue.
You may read this and see that the cons seem like there are more then the pros. It seems like it, but the pro’s really do out weigh the cons in my opinion. The bottom line is that if you are looking for a good Bluetooth and willing to spend from about $80 to $120 for it, I’d say this is the Bluetooth for you. If you wanted to spend more for an even greater quality, I’d say go for the Sennheiser BW900 and make sure to create a review on it, or the platronics Voyager 510SL. If you plan to spend less, I’d go check out the reviews on the Jawbone, Jabra, and the platronics.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

The best I've used
by DeepPurple23 on February 25, 2008
Pros: Sound quality on both ends, light, carrying case, car charger, good battery life
Cons: A little pricing and it didn't get me any "lovin'" from my wife.

Summary: I've been on a search for a bluetooth headset that would replace a wired Jabra that I had, eight years ago. I have finally found it, the VMX100B is fantastic. At $100 it is a little pricy, but most of the good ones are. At least it is not $350 like the B&O. The speaker is not a bud type so nothing is hurting your ear canel on extended calls. The sound quality on your end is outstanding and the speaker can get too loud if turned up all the way, this is key because it is not always quite in the car. As respects speaking, this is also outstanding, most people that I speak to don't realize that I am even on a mobile phone, forget about being on a bluetooth headset. I talked to my Dad last night for an hour and he didn't even know that I was on the headset, he thought I was on the landline, in addition he said that this is the best headset that I've ever owned and he is hard of hearing so that speaks volumes. I have owned Sony Ericcsons, Treos, Motorolas, Jabra JX10, Plantronics, and Gennum. I was leary of the "two mics" because of my experience with the Gennum. Here it actually works. Typically, when I'm on the phone the cats are in my feet meowing and everyone always comments that they can hear the cats. Not anymore, no cats and no radio in the background only my voice.
If you're looking for a bluetooth headset, this one is worth the try. I went for the Black version as it had a car charger and carrying case. I must say, the carrying case is fantastic, not some stupid little bag, but a small hard plastic case that protects the headset.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Excellent, but doesn't work with the iPhone
by charnish on October 6, 2009
Pros: It's comfortable, it has excellent audio quality both ways, good battery life.
Cons: It doesn't work properly with the iPhone. About half the time I could receive calls properly, but sometimes not. Making calls and listening to Voice Mail was so frustrating that I wanted to scream.
Summary: Sometimes it would work but some times, even though the iPhone showed it connected and chosen (between speaker, iPhone and VMX 100), There was no sound. Voice Mail was worse. ...
Summary: Sometimes it would work but some times, even though the iPhone showed it connected and chosen (between speaker, iPhone and VMX 100), There was no sound. Voice Mail was worse. It might work for one VM and then as I try to listen to a second, it would be playing through the iPhone earpiece. In trying to return a call, even after listening to it through the VMX 100, the return call would go to the iPhone.
Sennheiser assured me that it worked well with the iPhone, so I returned it and got a replacement which worked exactly the same.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Very bad call quality, cannot use it!
by emrebarzilay on April 5, 2011
Pros: Long battery life, would be useful if voice quality was good...
Cons: Terrible call quality on this headset. Connects well to blackberry via bluetooth, but other side always mentions eco in the call and they can't hear me well. Waste of money, old type of connection to recharge and pc sync. Veerry disappointed with the S

Summary: I extensively use wireless headsets with my BlackBerry mobile phones. Used Pro Plantronics brand in the past, felt minor pain on my ear, so decided to switch to Sennheiser thinking they would come up with a better product that wont cause pain. So bought the Sennheiser VMX 100 after some reserach. HUGE disappointment, very bad voice quality, literally cannot use it! So will have to search again and buy a new headset - this time (and in the future) never a Sennheiser!!!

Don't buy it!
by JoscTr on February 7, 2011
Pros: Nice design, fits well.
Cons: The one you are calling will experience such noise that he or she does not want to continue the conversation. I had mine replaced by the manufacturer, but replacement had same problem. They replaced for another model, which has bad fit.

Unsurpassed. Forget all other headsets.
by bugbear77 on December 18, 2009
Pros: The way you can turn on and answer a call and turn off/hang up by opening and closing the headset means the battery only runs out every few weeks. why havent the others done this???
Cons: Dunno, guess if it was free!
