Outstanding Sound & Quality in general!
by wearwolf123321 on January 18, 2011
Pros: : Sound Quality is amazing ( You can actually hear the gun shells dropping)
:Strong, sturdy & hard to break headset.
: The earmuff material is very nice and defiantly worth getting the x31 over the x11.Cons: :AAA batteries are a problem i went out and had to buy some rechargeable which ended up costing me about $49 extra for 4 AAAs & the charger.
: The cord connecting the headset to the controller could be a bit longer.Summary: This is a very good headset and defiantly worth it, i have had many headsets before ranging from turtle beach,Astros & Trittons. This is by far the best headset ...

Enjoy your old games in a new dimension
by amber0728 on September 9, 2009
Pros: Experience gaming at a whole new level, on XBL you'll find yourself asking friends, 'did you know XYZ makes a BLANK sound' ... I lost count on how many cool minute audio details I've come across over the past two weeks.
Cons: The boom mike is about one inch shorter than it should be. Another inch and I could have floated the microphone in front of my mouth, instead of nearly kissing it :)
Summary: Nice birthday gift from the significant other and family dog. I love this headset, the ear cups are comfortable and didn't bother me at all on my weekly gaming ...
Summary: Nice birthday gift from the significant other and family dog. I love this headset, the ear cups are comfortable and didn't bother me at all on my weekly gaming night with friends, well over 3 hours. The sound clarity is fantastic and I appreciate the fact the MIC and SOUND are distinct. In other words, you can lower the game volume all the way down and still hear the party chat clear as day. Personally, I set the ambient volume to a medium level and the voice microphone / chat high. It's not Turtle's fault but it's annoying that squelch can occur thanks to cheesy 2.5 mm controller jack. Quick fix BTW is a small piece of duct tape. Ideally I would have appreciated an included converter plug for the new 360 so that I could use HDMI and Fiber Optic; it's readily available but for the money - give me the converter. Overall I am very pleased with the product and am a little bit confused about the interference issue, my transmitter sits next to the 360 power supply, about 3 feet from the WiFi, and within 6 feet of an all-in-one surround sound, cable box, and 12 feet from the 2.5 GHz phone - I haven't had any interference issues with any of the devices mentioned. I can't stress enough how amazing these are just for regular playing, true there's a little advantage (directional fire) in COD, Gears, etc ... but from an audio perspective these headsets close the loop on the true gamer's HD set-up. During a horde match I heard a buzz from time to time and couldn't figure out the source, looked up and realized my character was standing next to a power box. In that same match there's ambient SFX I've never heard because of the typical noise pollution. Even on a tamer game like Overlord I've experienced new sounds and details I'd previously missed. My master bedroom set-up include ceiling mounted surround sound but trust me the experience when the speakers are wrapped around your ears is 100% different. If you don't want to spend the money on this model then I highly recommend seeking out the less expensive previous WIRED model. I gave those as a thank you gift to a good freind and he raves about them too. Plus, they can be used with any Fiber Optic source, regular HDTV, DVD, BluRay can be enjoyed at heart racing volume without disturbing anyone else. Nice!

worth it, but not for the extreme
by D0CTOR_Zeus on June 10, 2010
Pros: Amazing sound quality... for a while, worth price, hard to break

Summary: i kept breaking headset after headset after heaset so i wanted to try something new, when i heard about this i was very excited, at first i thought the price was a little high but after unboxing i knew why for the price, now i got this around december and between me my brother and my friends, we use my xbox 360 and headset everyday, now its just june and its starting to breakdown, i was playing cod MW2 and every 10 secends theres this big hiccup and space and it turns everything up about 30 and hurts your ears, now i just stopped using it because it was such a problem, and the little black tip on the mic( the condom) is very easy to loose and slips off very easily so watch were it lands, if you are a casual gamer who plays 3-4 times a week then get this headset, but if your hardcore then i would suggest going up the 50 bucks and getting the x41
NOTE THIS HEADSET DOES NOT WORK FOR OTHER AUDIO DEVICES!!!1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great For Price!
by AmaaZe on May 10, 2011
Pros: Brilliant Sound Quality for a wireless Headset, Great Price if your not looking for the best of the best headsets as they are affordable for a serious gamer (but not so much MLG or anything)...
Cons: Turtle Beaches Being shipped only to certain countries means that they are hard to find, so make sure when you go to America or Canada etc to bring your wallet!
Wireless, meaning not the best of the best sound Quality and also to do with sound is that itSummary: I have done my research as I was looking for a good quality, affordable headset... I had the Astro A30's, Steelseries Spectrum 5xb (i think that's it :P), ...
Summary: I have done my research as I was looking for a good quality, affordable headset... I had the Astro A30's, Steelseries Spectrum 5xb (i think that's it :P), and even the x41 which i decided was to much, so i nominated the x31's instead. Although there not the highest and proudest model they still are internationally respected from gamers as they are, Turtle Beaches. I had Steelseries before so i wanted something different and the Astro's popped up nicely, stylish, good quality but multimedia which i wasn't looking for as i already have, so i chose the x31's.
For Buying from shop's in the UK i wouldn't recommend as i went to many game shops and retail parks and they all didn't have in stock, so they told me to buy online which took a couple days. Online does give you more choice as well and if your in England get it from Tesco Outlet Online as you save £30, which is a lot...
Easy to setup gives it the advantage over wired headset as it's less fiddly and head-smacking, although the headset is heavier i would defiantly like the option of it not being wired.
Sound Quality is great for a wireless headset and it shows that Turtle Beach have put effort in making sure it has the best sound quality for a advanced Headset (wireless). Although not Dolby surround sound it still provides intense gaming sound that will help in shoot games such as Call of Duty and Halo and so on... Dolby Headsets are also more expensive and have a big pricetag rise compared to the x31's.
The fact that is not multimedia means it is only usable for gaming reasons so if you are wanting a music headset then go get some beats... The headset is advertised for Xbox although you can use it for PS3 as well and are said to be better than the P21's.
Overall i would HUGELY recommend this marvelous piece of audio accessories due to price and what you get with it, it is a great headset for not such MLG players but serious gamers whom want to get bigger, or make a living out of gaming. People like Tejb and Seananner's also use this headset too so that gives the x31's some fame, thank-you for reading my review and i hope you found it helpful. -
Great for gaming, some issues
by ronie1983 on March 4, 2011
Pros: The sound is amazing. With all the different speakers, I can hear which direction the noise is coming from, bombs being planted, people walking, shots being fired. Love it!
Cons: There are a lot of technical problems. The cord between the headset and controller stops working, then the connection part where the cord connects to the headset becomes loose and you can't hear anything.
Summary: It's a great product, but falls apart just after a year. I would buy it again, but send it in right before the warranty runs out.

Summary: I just bought the x31 even though I have other wired headsets. Both my Turtle Beach Px21(use with my PS3 and the Tritton AX 720 wired headsets have a better sound quality than the x31 but i get really tired of plugging and unplugging the other headsets each time I use them. The sound quality on the x31 is good but not great and i have a harder time knowing where people are shooting from on games like COD Black Ops because the x31 does not support 5.1 surround sound. I bought a second x31 because my little cousin loved mine so much. Overall I love this headset.

Great wireless chat and TV speaker headset for price!

Pros: Superb sound quality, comfortable, adjust the volume to balance chat and speakers.
Cons: Nothing except for a personal suggestion: I wish i could pair this device with my blue-tooth laptop.

Summary: These are durable, comfortable, and have very good sound quality. They employ an adjustable chat microphone and speaker volume. I think they are a great addition for your Xbox gaming needs. Especially if you don't want your HDTV volume blasting through your home.
I used to wear two different devices. A chat mic and a set of headphones from my t.v. This puts your mic and t.v. speakers all on your head! I simply love them! You can even adjust the sound volume separately between the chat and t.v. speakers, so if one is too loud or too low, you can balance the sound! This is also a wireless device! I use it as a wireless set of t.v. speakers as well. Definitely glad i got this product. -
Disappointing sound quality...
by TheMatthews27 on December 26, 2009
Pros: Comfortable, good microphone, universal compatibility, and the "expensive" feel.
Cons: Poor sound quality, massive RF interference, and awkward control placement.
Summary: If you are accustomed to high-quality audio gear, this headset should be near the bottom of your list.
