  An amazing headset, especialy with the Astro MixAmp

  Pros: The 50mm drivers really shine when the headset is amplified. Minimal to no discomfort after 5+ hours of gaming. It is by Turtle Beach. Works on everything (Consoles, PC, Handhelds) Mic is clear with zero distortion. Not too heavy, just right (IMO)

  Cons: Not really a con... but, The pins in the breakaway MIGHT BE fragile, I really dont know. But if these headsets fail, that will probably be the reason. But it shouldn't be a problem. I only bring this up becasue of past headsets having this problem.

  Summary: I used to have the Astro A40's. I wasn't as pleased with them as other people have been. So I sold the headset, but kept the MixAmp. So I have been browsing for a new headset that I could use with my PC AND PS3. I was about to buy the PX21's... untill I saw this just came out. I saw the price and was affraid it wouldn't be as good as the A40's. Boy was I wrong... They are 5x better (In my opinion). The oversized 50mm drivers are absolutly incredible. The mixamp really makes the experience... well, awesome. I hear everything. The distance sounds right for audio cues. And the directionality from the mixamp plus the 50mm drivers is unbeatable. Having those larger drivers really puts this headset on top because there truly is a huge diference between 40 and 50mm drivers when it comes to directionality. Well also, bass, mids and highs. The bass is deep, but not so much that highs are washed out. The highs shine as usual, and the mids are clear as real life. This headset really puts you in the game. Some other review may be lower than mine because those people who have wrote them weren't using a 5.1 mixer. This headset would have gotten five stars, but I wasn't rating it with the mixamp in mind. So for $210... you get this headset, the mixamp, and the nessasary 4 pole Y splitter. Giving you a better experience than the A40's, at $40 less. If you are in the market for the A40's, A30's, or any other high end headset setup... don't fall for their popularity or them being part of MLG... buy this set up, and you will be very happy with your desision. Oh, one last thing. You will need to buy an optical cable... don't buy any kind of cable anywhere, go to http://MonoPrice.com/ they have every cable imaginable with a price that has zero mark up. As well as cheap shipping. I bought a 6 foot optical cable from that site for $3.71 (that includes shipping) and works better than a Monster cable. Peace out guys, and I will see you in Black Ops!

  Summary: Taking everything into consideration, it is difficult not to recommend the Z2. One of the things I've noticed is that even so close after being released, and you can find this headset for less than MSRP. On http://www.turtlebeachheadset.net, I saw these headphones that are as low as $ 47, so this budget friendly handset is a big factor. I would recommend this headset for PC gamers looking for a budget friendly handset that its main use is the PC game. It performs well for music / movies / Xbox 360 for secondary uses, but as the X11 earphones are more oriented features 360 games and are about the same price range, and dedicated headset in the same price range as JVC RX700 apt would be better if music / movies were the main function. So if you mostly play 360, you can choose the X11 over the Z2, especially if you play PC, you could choose the Z2 in the X11, and so etcHay tons of factors in determining what fits headset or headphones s you like a glove, but if the cost is a concern, then do not be afraid to put these headphones on top of your list.
