EHHHHHH... ....
by rhorow1 on April 25, 2007
Pros: once it works, sound quality is good plus you will barely will know your wearing it
Cons: takes forever to sync it up to system, had it for 2 days and still can only sync it up sometimes, lack of range, echos, buzzes, annoys other gamers
Summary: Go look at the x-box FAQ page and see the 50+ pages of people telling nightmare stories about it. Between the echoing, the syncing problems, the range problems, the AWFUL ...
Summary: Go look at the x-box FAQ page and see the 50+ pages of people telling nightmare stories about it. Between the echoing, the syncing problems, the range problems, the AWFUL support of the x-box customer service who seem to take their sweet time helping you while they claim your the first person to call with the sync up problem. Yet their own website has hundreds of people claiming they called. **ALSO people claim that certain controllers will not accept the wireless headset no matter what, yet no one knows which controllers work with it and which don't, so your basically shooting blind when you buy this product. If you could get one that you know will work (try a friends on your controller possibly??) then id say go get one, but until they fix these flaws id hold off on purchasing one..
just a note...i know a few friends who have them who say theirs work perfect..so it seems to be a total crap shoot... I've already gone back to my wired one until i can get this wireless thing working properly.Updated
i recently tried connecting it to my other controller( which i bought separately from my 360) and the headset works great. i've had a few instances where i have been kicked out of a chat room because it picks up the fan in the room (sensitive mic) but other than that, it works superUpdated
well ive know had the product for well over a month and use it all teh time..it still does not connect to one of my controllers..the problem is that it connects initially but then will drop the mic after a minute or two..i then have to disconnect my controller and turn off the mic and turn the mic on again sync it to player 1 then turn on the other controller and it works fine...this is very annoying since both my controllers look exactly the same (obviously) but i hav marked the one that works with a sticker now(very hi-tech i know) so i know the difference and can aviod that situation. the mic works pretty good now although soemtimes it can echo which is super annoying...3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Nice but has caused troubles!
by will5434 on December 11, 2010

Cons: Ever since I synced the headset I have had problems syncing my controllers.

Summary: I like the design and voice quality but for the price you would expect it to sync up the first time and be ready to use whenever. That is not the case, it seams every time I use it I have to resync the headset and not only that but I have to resync my controllers every time as well and it takes multiple times to get them to work properly. That is a big problem for me since I have never had to resync my controllers from day 1 until now.
I know I ranked the price as a con even though I got it for $30 at Best Buy but at that price I still expect it to cause no problems especially when its a Microsoft product. I prefer my Tritton AX720 and even the mic you get get the console though that is overpriced just like every other Microsoft prosduct -
Horrible Headset
by CodeRed2008 on June 7, 2010
Pros: Looks pretty nice, returnable for full refund.
Cons: Feels cheap, six hour charge, eight hour battery life, can't use and charge, unconformable, the price

Summary: This is very very cheap product (quality wise), it takes up to six hours to fully charge, and only 8 hours of battery life.. ***? That's charging it every two days for most gamers, not only that your XBOX has to be on the charge it. So while this is charging your XBOX is overheating. It is very uncomfortable on the ear, it's better just to get the wired headset, hell by two for the price of this one. Not impressed with this product at all.

Another faulty Microsoft product
by f8sjstr on January 30, 2009
Pros: Wireless
Louder than the wired headsetCons: Stops working right after warranty expires, MS customer support is worthless, Synching problems, Buzzing, Disconnect problems, low range the list goes on and on just look at the xbox forums under Accessories
Summary: If you dont mind spending 60 dollars for a headset that will work....sort of, for about 4 months or so then go ahead and buy this. Don't bother ...
Summary: If you dont mind spending 60 dollars for a headset that will work....sort of, for about 4 months or so then go ahead and buy this. Don't bother calling customer support for any issues you may have with it though as they will run you through a bunch of hoops that have nothing to do with the headset and then just flat out lie and say you are the only person having this issue.

Wireless is the way to go!
by FreakyFraser1 on October 10, 2008
Pros: Light weight, good fit, excellent sound quality & mic......oh yeah, no more wires!
Cons: Sound quality issues on initial release (now solved), syncing can still be quirky, battery life could be a bit better.
Summary: When I first bought the XBox Wireless Headset it would have deserved 1 star based on the many connection/sound issues it had. I was forced to put it away ...
Summary: When I first bought the XBox Wireless Headset it would have deserved 1 star based on the many connection/sound issues it had. I was forced to put it away for a month while Microsoft sorted out and fixed the problem. One of their many online updates in late '07 fixed those problems, and after nearly a year of use I can honestly say this is a great buy for any XBox Live multiplayer fan.
Initial syncing to your console/controller is a simple process of pushing the 'sync' button on all 3 items. Within 20 seconds you should be at synced and ready to go. The 2 sizes of ear clips the headset comes with should be fine for most users, but I'm sure children with small ears will find it loose and/or falls off. For me, the small clip is perfect and the headset is snug without being tight, and after a couple minutes of play, I forget it's there. Sound quality is excellent, and friends on Live tell me my voice is clear and without the loud background hum that intially plauged the Wireless Headset. Volume & Mute controls are located on the outside of the earpiece and are large & easy to use. The Mute button doubles as the power On/Off (Simply hold it down, as opposed to a quick push to mute). The headset also indicates which controller it's synced to with a small green LED numbered 1 to 4 on the inside of the mic arm. All in all, a tidy little package that gets many (many) hours of use during my Gears of War latenight marathons.
That last statement brings us to one of the headset's 'Cons'. Battery life is listed as "up to 8 hours of battery life per charge" on the XBox website. 5 - 6 hours is what I'm getting, but I must mention that I don't leave the headset plugged in charging after each use. I fully charge it, then disconnect it until I'm ready to use it. Sometimes it will sit for few days so maybe this is on me. The other issue I'm having is that my headset won't sync to any other controller but the one I originally synced it to. Any attempt to sync it to another controller results in the headset picking the next unused quadrant and showing up an a controller. Even weirder, when my chatpad is attached to a controller I can sync it to that controller easily, but when I remove the chatpad, the headset drops out and again moves to the next available quadrant. Bizarre!
Regardless, with the correct controller in my hands, the XBox Wireless Headset is sweet music...well, more likely trash talk, to my ears. -
Love this ideal but I having to return a second headset because it will not charge.
by kkildare on August 4, 2008
Pros: Can be heard clearly and hear others better. Mouth piece not in your face
Cons: Will not recharge after extended wearing. Returned two because of this.
Summary: I really love this product but do not let it go completely dead or it will not recharge. You start hearing beeps than recharge quickly. Can not tell if you ...
