The good: The Zune Car Pack FM transmitter and in-car charger offers a classy design, decent broadcast quality, a detachable interface, autoscan, and two station presets.
The bad: The Zune Car Pack only works with Zune MP3 players, and lacks advanced features such as line-out, line-in, mono mode, and a USB charge port for other peripherals.
The bottom line: The Zune Car Pack FM transmitter is an attractive, useful way to listen to your Zune in your car.

Summary: the zune car pack has the basics, but it also boasts a little autofinder thing that will find usable radio stations for you, its cables will tuck away inside the body of the device (which is great when you have a car that looks completely tornado-ridden), and has a very nice classy look to it.
the only down side lies with the fact that it only has two preset buttons, but like i said before, the autofinder works great.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

AMAZING!!! Well worth it for the Zune
by kshamrel on July 22, 2008
Pros: Great reception, autoscan, presets
Cons: wires can get a little tangled, but you can manage them easily

Summary: I was a little skeptical when my brother got this for me b/c i heard bad things about the 1st generation Zune Car Pack, but i was quickly amazed by this product! I get great reception no matter where i go (so long as you utilize the autoscan feature, which searches for the best reception stations around), and i've gone from seattle to portland to los angeles and i can always find a great station! DON'T LISTEN TO BAD REVIEWS! THOSE PEOPLE JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THE SWEET FEATURES ON THIS AWESOME PRODUCT! It does suck if you don't have a Zune, but if you do, you NEED to get this for your car!

Charges Zune (+) Radio Reception (-)
by ktfarrell95 on February 24, 2009
Pros: Love the magnetic tuner and the two channel presets and the fact that it "talks" to the car's display screen with the artist and the title of what is being played.
Cons: The reception is not very good. I have used an iriver FM charger transmitter for my iriver clix and had no issues with reception. I also used a Phillips FM transmitter and the sound was smooth, not choppy at all.
Summary: At this moment it seems like the Zune Car pack charger is an overpriced Zune charger.

HORRIBLE PRODUCT!
by donkeycrusher on February 6, 2009
Pros: Automatically shuts off zune when power is terminated and turns it back on when power is re-established.
Cons: Isn't worth a CRAP! Literally, I'd rather have a bag of poo than this miserable, aggrivating product.

Summary: It won't work on any stations below 100, if you can actually find a station above 100 that picks up the transmission it's filled with static and won't last more than a few minutes, the autosearch is worthless since it lands on stations with a full transmission signal. The idea of the product is fantastic, if they actually turned up the strength of the frequency so your car radio could find it. In summary, HORRIBLE, LOUSY, MISERABLE PRODUCT. save yourself the aggrivation and sing loudly instead.
I would like everyone who gave this piece of garbage a good rating to contact me. I want to be your friend. You obvously have low standards and are easily impressed. Since I'm a bit difficult to get along with and not very impressive, I need friends who possess your qualities.

BEWARE!! Not a good product

Summary: As soon as I hooked up this product I knew I was taken. I live in the LA metropolitan area and when the device searched for empty frequencies it found only 2 but with ALOT of static. When I did the automatic search it chose full blown FM stations. I couldn't believe it. I knew these stations by their call signs So I decided to search manually & that's where I found the 2 "stations"--what a joke!! I ended up getting a cassette adapter for about $50 less. BUYER BEWARE!!

Bad Design and Doesn't Really Work...
by saveJack24 on February 4, 2008
Pros: Charges Zune, Zune Logos, Presets, No Slip Pad
Cons: No Volume/Signal Strength Control, Poor/Faint Signal, Expensive, Easily Disruptable Signal
Summary: Got it for Christmas and it's just plain pathetic. Want Bass? Sorry. Want a consistent signal? Sorry. I am very impressed with my Zune 80 but this thing tells ...
Summary: Got it for Christmas and it's just plain pathetic. Want Bass? Sorry. Want a consistent signal? Sorry. I am very impressed with my Zune 80 but this thing tells me Microsoft doesn't passionately care about accessories. Accessories are very important when it comes to being an ipod killer. I don't want to ipod to be killed, but come on. I would much rather have a quality accessory than the Social anyday.
The purchase was especially unpleasant considering it cost $80. So I returned it and bought a Monster transmitter for $40 and can say it is 10x better for half the price.
The Zune transmitter signal would be nonexistent if:
1. There was a passenger
2. Any body part was within .5 feet
3. It was near the zune or Cell phone
Unacceptable. O, and it has a weak magnet so you can put it on your fridge. Maybe that's the reason...0 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
