Summary: I bought this a few months ago from Best Buy and have had the chance to move this all over my apartment. It has a decent range and will work through walls...though not well. I had to experiment with placement to get a good strong signal.
I have it currently placed about 70' away (through two brick walls) from the transmitter in another room and I get pretty clear sound. Occasionally it will fade or breakup if there are a lot of people in either room. On a whole, it was pretty easy to set up for putting a spare speakers into another room.
If you are looking for sound quality, I'd look elsewhere. Otherwise, it was a great product.

Summary: I am considering buying this product so my rating is bogus, I'm just adding info. I called Rocketfish and was told that this device uses the 2.4 GHz frequecy to send the signal.
Updated
"...chips operate in the 2.4GHz band, the same one used by most household appliances. However, the chips use a proprietary wireless transmission standard. The standard has a small spectrum footprint and can use up to 40 different channels in the spectrum. This lets the chips dynamically elect channels not being used by other devices and cut down interference."

Summary: I wish the rear amp had more power since my receiver puts out 100W to the rear, but otherwise I've never had any pops from my rear speakers. I have a HTIB Onkyo setup. The rear speakers will hum a little bit if you have the stereo off and leave the receiver/rear amp on, but I always turn mine off when I'm not using it. Great sound for movies, but not for audiophiles.

Summary: This is a decent in-home system if you can set this up relatively close to your speakers. The biggest problem was the random pops and a speaker randomly not working. This is really just a pass type of item.
In other words, this item isn't worth it unless you can set it up close to your sound system, or you have a small empty room.

Summary: I can't say that this company has no customer service. They do - it's just the worst I have ever encountered. The people on the phone don't have even basic knowledge of audio systems. I spoke to three different people all who had never heard of a powered amplifier. IF you ask to speak to a supervisor they start to get rude. Avoid this company's products at all costs.

Summary: I took these speakers out of the box. Plugged the sender into my computer (because I wanted to hear steaming music) and the speakers into wall sockets.
One speaker goes into my office and the other into the family room.
I pressed the sender button (on the sender unit) and the receiver button on each of the speakers to start the communication. I then went to steaming music on my computer at Jones college radio, at http://wktz.jones.edu. This station plays beautiful music (elevator stuff) that I like in the background. Can't find this kind of music on any station on my radio, so I was forced to use streaming music from Jacksonville, Florida.
The speakers worked as they said they would. These speakers are absolutely great! I am VERY happy with them and I would recommend these to anyone. I was thinking of getting another pair just because they are so great!

Great product.

Pros: Easy setup. Works as described. Wires are not a problem. It certainly beats running wires around the room.
Cons: None really, except that a remote control feature would be nice. You have to turn the transmitter and receiver on manually. But it is not that big of a deal and I would buy the product again, even it does not come with a remote.
Summary: Music and movies sound great! I have had the product for six months and have not had any problems. A great way to get surround sound when you cant run ...

Summary: I got the wireless kit as a gift for my birthday to use on my Onkyo SR606 receiver for the surround back, not the regular surround speakers which draw a little bit more power.
The sound level is great and the receiver was able to automatically configure the back surround speakers with the included microphone. The only different thing I noticed was it took the receiver two sweeps to actually set the delays and amplification levels correct on the receiver automatic setup.
My only complaint is that it uses the same 2.4GHz as almost any other wireless device out there, including the Actiontec MI424WR router provided by Verizon with the FIOS instalation. As soon as I turn my rear surround receiver, the internet goes down for every connected device on the house and it comes back alive as soon as I turn it off.
I'm going to but a linksys dual-band router, either the wrt320n or the wrt6100n and try the 5GHz link to see if that solves my problem. Will post if it works.
Other than the internet problem, I'm actually happy to get some use of those extra speakers without running the long wires across the living room.
