Pros: BRIGHT, clear, very vivid colors, great blacks, tons of inputs - including DVI which is HDCP, lots of menu features, remote control features (laser and PC controller)
Cons: Some might find it audible, but it's not "loud"...

Summary: We have used different projectors over the years now, most of them ranging in the 1000 dollar price tag area - 1024x768 native res, just as this (EP771) projector is. We were using an EP719 for the past few years, and it has served us well. We went through three EP719's in the first month - not very good luck I think, as the third one lasted a very long time and got a lot of use out of it. We were skeptical of upgrading to this EP771, since it doesn't seem like a big difference in statistical values - BUT... what a difference!
The colors with this projector really keeps the detail and beauty in the image. It almost feels like we were colorblind before. I can't believe my eyes when I look at the 8 foot screen now and just gawk.
Watching TV and Movies is our primary use, but gaming and home office are also used at times. We are more than satisfied with the EP771.
I don't know if it supports 1080p - I know it does 1080i. To me this is not a "CON" but to others it might lower the rating perhaps. I don't have any sources for 1080p signals (yet) so I'm not concerned with that issue.
Another topic to touch on is the brightness - we have a light controlled room - which we used and needed for the EP719. The extra 1000 lumen the EP771 shines out really does the trick. We can leave the lights on in the room (600 watts) and still see the screen easily (AND THE COLORS!!). Daylight directly on the screen doesn't bode well of course, but sunlight in the room doesn't seem to be an issue and our projector is about 15 feet from the screen. I'm very impressed.
Best Buy had this model on sale for 1012.99 and an extra 179.99 for a 3 year warranty (which covers free bulb replacements). If you are trying to justify a few extra hundred to come up to this model - it's completely worth it - the DVI HDCP input alone is worth the cost.
