Very disappointed considering the cost of the unit.
by JGarner819 on February 20, 2012
Pros: It does have good sound when it works. I've found the digital coaxial connection provides better sound than the optical connection.
Cons: The 2 problems I've experienced have soured me on Bose products, and I won't purchase from them again.

Summary: I've had this unit for a couple of years and have dealt with 2 problems off and on. One is that the volume level will shoot up so loud that it is difficult to get to the unit to shut it off because your ears are hurting. The other is that static starts coming out of the speakers, but if you turn it off and back on, the static goes away. I called Support about these issues. They had me reset the unit by unplugging the power supply, checked to ensure I had the latest software (which I did), and then said I would need to ship it to the east coast for repair (not acceptable). Needless to say, I'm a disappointed customer and would not purchase a Bose again.

AMAZING BOSE QUALITY!
by rperez_27 on February 20, 2011
Pros: Clarity of sound is unmatched. I've had it for 5 - 6 months and have played just about everything through it that it can handle. It performs flawlessly every time.
Cons: It is best for small rooms where typical surround sound systems are overkill but if you want an audiophiles system for your new HDTV like I did then you will not be disappointed. I only wish it had more HDMI inputs.
Summary: Video quality is excellent but the sound processing is the reason to get this product. Combined with a Blue-Ray player and HDTV the system is perfect for movies and listening ...

Too much money for glorified computer speakers
by MatrixDweller on September 25, 2009
Pros: - All in one package
- Other people who don't know the truth with think you have a good system because it's Bose (name recognition)Cons: - Poor bass midrange and high frequency reproduction
- Small cheap plastic speakers and bass module
- Poorly constructed drivers
- No HDMI inputs
- No tweeters or subwoofers
- Proprietary cabling
-Summary: The speakers in this system remind me of the $100 computer speakers I have. The fact that Bose tries to dupe uneducated buyers into thinking that their system is magically ...
Summary: The speakers in this system remind me of the $100 computer speakers I have. The fact that Bose tries to dupe uneducated buyers into thinking that their system is magically delicoius is just wrong. Even at half the price other system trounce the 3-2-1 in quality of sound output. The Bose name does not mean everything they make is top notch.

Really a good choice
by yvesblache on August 27, 2009
Pros: Easy installation
Quality of sound incredible in movies and musics
really small deviceCons: Quite expensive for a small home theather
The sub cannot be place anywhere far from speaker because of the cable included in the box..not really long and special connector
No hdmi input..only output (better that nothing)Summary: I really love my new system. The sound is amazing, even if it is not a 5.1 system, it give you the impression that you hear surround sound. The ...
Summary: I really love my new system. The sound is amazing, even if it is not a 5.1 system, it give you the impression that you hear surround sound. The definition of the sound is also incredibly detailled. It is powerful enough for anyone in a appartement.
I have test a lot of sound system because of my work. (Dumoulin Électronique), i can tell you that this small system is a good choice if you need space saving sound system for you home theater... -

Summary: i have had this system since right before the super bowl. it set up easily. i have achieved good separation of the satellite speakers. it simulates a 'surround' environment surprisingly well for a 2.1 system. i installed it in a 15' x 25' living room around a 46" sony xbr6. PLENTY of base. PLENTY of volume. enough to rattle things around in my upstairs bedroom.
i was also able to program the remote control to work with the TV, and Direct-tv HD satellite box.
music plays well. i have not had a cd or dvd not play.
i am completely satisfied. -

Summary: I have been eyeing the GS 321 system for my bedroom for about 3 months before actually acquiring. When one of my favorite electronic stores went bye bye, liquidating their merchandise, I decided to just go for it.
I got this speaker system for 200 bucks less than the published price. Setup was easy. I really am not expecting to shatter my neighbor's windows with this purchase. But all expectations met. Sleek design. No clutter. Very good sound distribution. With my 42" Samsung lcd, my bedroom is now like a decent mini-theater. It's amazing how sound seems to come from behind when there are only 2 front speakers and 1 sub (which is also in front in my current setup). With the series III's HDMI, I really think, not unless you are Stephen Speilberg, you will not be disappointed.
For people expecting a full surround sound effect, this is not your system. Go for a regular 5-1 or 7-1 setup. But if you want to just compliment your top of the line big LCD or Plasma and just not satisfied with their build-in tiny speakers, you should give GS 3-2-1 a shot. -
Excellent value for the money

Pros: EXCELLENT SOUND OUT OF A SPACE SAVING SYSTEM

Summary: I BROUGHT THIS SYSTEM TO COMPLIMENT MY NEW 50" PLASMA ,MY HI DEF SATELLITE RECEIVER AND BLUE RAY. AFTER GOING TO THE BIG BOX STORES AND LISTENING TO SOME OF THE PACKAGED SURROUND SOUND SYSTEMS I DECIDED TO SPEND A LITTLE MORE AND GO WITH THE BOSE. IF YOU HAVE A SMALL TO MIDSIZED ROOM YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. BEING AN OWNER OF A BOSE LIFESTYLE SYSTEM FOR OVER 10 YEARS IM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS SMALLER VERSION OF THE BOSE HOME THEATER FAMILY. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS CONNECT YOUR SYSTEM TO YOUR TV VIA HDMI, AUDIO VIDEO OR SUPER VIDEO AND YOUR ALL SET. MAKE SURE TO GO INTO THE MENU TO SET UP YOUR BASS AND TREBLE PREFRENCES FOR THUNDEROUS BASS AND CLEARS HIGHS. IF YOU WANT FULL SURROUND SOUND THEN YOU MUST BUY A FIVE SPEAKER SURROUND SOUND WITH REAR CHANNELS. THIS UNIT WILL ONLY GIVE YOU SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE TV, BUT THE SOUND REPRODUCTION IS SUPERB. I PLAY MUSIC FROM MY SATELLITE RECEIVER AND IT SOUNDS AWESOME. I ALSO CONNECT MY IPOD TO IT AND WE LISTEN TO JAZZ, R&B, HIP HOP CLASSICAL AND LATIN AND THE MUSIC SOUNDS GREAT. IF YOUR LOOKING TO BLOW THE WINDOWS OUT OF YOU HOUSE THEN THIS UNIT IS NOT FOR YOU, WHILE THE SOUND IS GREAT ITS NOT THE SAME SOUND THAT YOU GET OUT OF A 15 WOOFER WITH A AMP AND SPEAKERS, BUT THEN AGAIN WHEN YOUR PRESSED FOR SPACE THIS UNIT DOES THE JOF EFFICIENTLY. FOR A HANDSOME LOOKING ENTERTAINMENT CENTER THE BOSE WILL NOT DISAPOINT.

BAD DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Easy to hook up.Cons: Subwoofer bass.

Summary: The Bose 321 system is not worth even close to $700. I purchased this a year ago and regret it. The bass is poor. Anyone that gave this system 5 stars must work for Bose. We returned a Onkyo system with Bose speakers because it did not hook up to our television. This system however sounded good and was half the price.
