Sleek and sexy with more than enough bells and whistles

Summary: I have owned TWO samsung HTIB's before, both that included upconvert DVD 5 disc changers. I almost gave up on samsung, because the upconvert quality was not what I was looking for (lots of judder). But I took the chance on this one and FINALLY have found a keeper with samsung. The sound is... different. Not as loud, no. But thats a good thing. Its a much cleaner and crisp sound. Not like the OVERLY loud systems that I had before. I can tweak the speaker levels, and it has an equalizer that I can CONTROL for once. I suppose that is because this is an actual AV reciever (my first) instead of an all in one system... which means your going to have to purchase your DVD player separately. But that is fine with me given I wasnt too happy with their upconvert players.

Long story short... although it took me nearly two hours to hook up and study how to connect my 50" Pioneer Kuro, and my upconvert DVD, I feel I made a great investment. I am also pleased to know that when I get the HDDVD/Blue Ray that it has the capability to hook into this thing, as well as a new gaming system. The price is a little stand-offish, but simalar systems with the same connectivity and decoders, 7.1 option, and included speakers can go for over 1000!!! They may in fact be superior. But for the money, you can't beat this. Thank you Samsung for my home theater joy!!!

Not all that I though it would be.

Summary: I bought this to use with my Samsung HP-T4264 HDTV. The main reason I chose this system was for the Anynet (HDMI-CEC) feature. I liked the idea of not having to use multiple remotes for basic functions. I have now found that Anynet doesn?t work when my Motorola DCT6200 cable box and/or Sony PS3 are hooked up to it via HDMI. I didn't expect to have control of these non Anynet devises, but I was disappointed that they could cause Anynet to become unstable.
