The good: 5.1 home theater system; built-in Blu-ray player; best-in-class sound quality; excellent image quality on Blu-ray movies; Netflix and Pandora streaming; fast Blu-ray load times; iPod dock included; attractive exterior design.
The bad: Design has some usability issues; no video inputs; no automatic speaker calibration; PC streaming feature is more trouble than it's worth.
The bottom line: Samsung's HT-BD1250 home theater system has built-in Blu-ray, streaming media from Netflix and Pandora, and excellent audio and video quality, making it our top budget Blu-ray all-in-one system.

DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!
by bulbstud on December 14, 2009
Pros: Works if you don't want to use the blu ray feature or ever update it.
Cons: Wouldn't play a blu ray movie (Band of Brothers). Updated the firmware from Samsung's website via USB following all instructions to the letter. Unit is now a paperweight that won't do anything. Found a post with nearly 300 similar complaints.
Summary: Samsung should stick to making TVs and monitors. Do not buy this unit.

Remeber this is a BUDGET system
by drrodge on December 7, 2009

waste of time
by jfd-cnet on November 28, 2009
Pros: great sound and simple set up
Cons: Blu-Ray play was filled with gliches and artifacts every few minutes. Replaced head unit - got same results except less often. (tried my ps3 blu-ray - perfect video) I work in IT - This system is very buggy. Can't believe these reviews.
Summary: Try the unit, you just might get a good one. Just be ready to return it. Never update the firmware if it's working. (kiss of death).

Included Ipod DockCons: No video support for PC Streaming, USB connected devices, or Ipod

Summary: Great Budget HTIB. Would almost be perfect if it supported video. I was very dissapointed that PC streaming/USB playing did not include video. Even one format (such as divx would be acceptable).
Currently looking to return this product for the HT-BD3252 (as long as I can confirm with samsung that the HT-BD3252 supports video). The additional money is justified by the 2 HDMI inputs, included wireless peripherals and video support. -
Outstanding sound quality.
by BJBailey on August 17, 2009
Pros: Outstanding sound quality. Lots of features for the price.
Cons: Had to buy a wireless adapter to connect to the internet which didn't work with my apple airport/time capsule. Also, wish the rear speaker wires were longer.
Summary: Great product. Would recommend. Nice design. Great is sound. Internet features work great. Had to use a Netgear powerline ethernet connection as the Samsung adapter I purchased wouldn't connect ...

Other then that, I think this is the best Home Theater in the Box out there.

by lrex on May 8, 2009
Pros: Good sound. Compatibility with Samsung HDTV.
Cons: The box said PC Streaming as well as placard in box and Samsung website. L2 Tech support said this is a mistake. Talk about false advertising!
Also many standard DVDs are slow to load.Summary: Good unit. Don't believe the streaming from PC feature.

Came out of the box not working.
by treverspence on June 30, 2009
Pros: Sound in speakers that worked was great and Blu Ray loaded fast.
Cons: When I got everything wired up fromt right spaeker was cracking troublshot it to be a bad output and had to send it in to Samsung for repair. This took two weeks which is waaay too long considering I never got to use the system.
Summary: I think the product will be good just wish it had of worked when I got it out of the box.

Would be brilliant except let down by centre speaker
by Rychous on September 3, 2009
Pros: Awesome look, Awesome picture, Looks great with LED TV.
Cons: The centre speaker distorts when listening to deeper voices at just medium level. Appears to be an actual design fault, as I have swapped it, same thing. Yet if I use a crappy old centre speaker from an old system and the problem goes away.
Summary: Huge flaw ruins it for me. Have been told to take it back and replace it with an LG system.

still needed two remotes
by beel66 on August 13, 2009
Pros: blu ray and looks
Cons: Could not program my dishnetwork remote to work it. Tv with anynet+ would not power up the Samsung BD1250. Used the dish remote to power up the dish and tv and the remote for the BD1250 to power it on. There were no HDMI inputs for the dish.
Summary: Not as useful as I was expecting.

I am shopping would not buy
by Robwilli7572 on January 3, 2010
Pros: Could not think of any
Cons: Not having the ability to control speaker loudness is a minus.
Summary: As I said above that would definately not buy this system, every disc is different and so are TV programs.
