works some of the time

Pros: Nice design
Cons: Recognises some but not all USB devices, even though all of these devices are recognised when plugged directly into the computer's usb port!

NOT reliable. Spontaneously drops connections.

Pros: Looks nice, priced right, decent number of ports.
Cons: Frequently drops connections, for all sorts of peripherals. Sometimes within moments of plug-in, sometimes after a couple hours. I've learned the hard way to never plug in a second device while a critical data transfer is taking place.
Summary: The whole point of connectivity to to connect and stay connected. This POS does not. Frequently it will spontaneously drop connections, for all sorts of peripherals.

Does NOT play nice with iTunes

Pros: Seems to do what it is supposed to most of the time.
Cons: LEDs are extremely bright & twice it caused me to have to restore my iPhone because it didn't play nice with iTunes during firmware updates. Restoring only worked with the iPhone plugged directly into my Macbook Pro.
Summary: It's ok. Occasionally it drops the connection to my external HD as well. I have no idea why. I'll be looking for something a bit more reliable soon.

A single Type B upstream port is provided to connect to the host computer, or another USB hub. Configured directly by the operating system, the DUB-H7 operates seamlessly with both Microsoft's OpenHCI, Intel's Universal HCI and USB 2.0 new generation specification EHCI. As a standard USB hub, it buffers USB data from any attached peripherals or devices in compliance with USB specification versions 1.1 and 2.0 to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low-speed 1.5Mbps devices, full-speed 12Mbps devices and high-speed 480Mbps, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer.
