In addition to its bright color, it has power control features and multiple powering options. Power it via a +12V adapter, or power it via a standard disk drive 4-pin Molex power source. Generation 4 is loaded with indicators - FireWire attached, USB attached, +12V input jack active, disk drive power input jack active and +5V/+12V out operational. It makes a technician's work much easier. These simple features are immensely valuable when troubleshooting a drive. It even has an on/off switch for safe drive power up and power down.
