Pros: Very easy to use, menu's are intuitive, sound quality is excellent, easy to read display, using the phone book to find numbers is childs play. Bluetooth is decent audio quality for far end hearing me, me hearing them is top quality. Would buy again.
Cons: Display is a little too bright at night, I turn it off. Lacking different colour selections for display, I understand sirius link is weak (no favorites etc) - my sirius is via the aux port. Bluetooth misses sync 1 in 20 times. ALL MINOR, very happy.
Summary: I think the bluetooth sync intermittant problem could actually be my blackberry. The pioneer has not given me ANY trouble. I have had quite a few BAD car stereos - ...
Summary: I think the bluetooth sync intermittant problem could actually be my blackberry. The pioneer has not given me ANY trouble. I have had quite a few BAD car stereos - and for similar prices. Supports more music formats than the Clarion and the Alpine - which are both great looking units (and have perhaps nicer displays), super easy to install, manual came on a CD for easy searching. It actually made my stock speakers sound really decent (they were replaced also but i was shocked at the change from the stock deck - stock decks truly are junk). If i had to nit pick, I would say Pioneer could have done something with the random generator, or maybe put a light sensor on the front that adjusted the brightness of the display depending on ambient light - or even just put a menu option for 'brightness'. The mute button could be a little bigger too. I recommend it very highly, and would definitely buy it again if my car were stolen etc.
Pros: Has everything you need: bluetooth for phone and audio playback, ipod, USB, aux in.
Cons: Need extra hardware to mount in VW Passat and retain steering wheel controls. Need separate Pioneer tuner for HD radio (which failed after failed after 1 week of service). Have not tried the Ipod interface yet.
Summary: If you have a VW and don't want to pay $700 to replace your dead factory Monsoon unit - DON"T! Spend your $$$ on this deck and you get ...
