Great Do-It-All Printer

Pros: Built in roll feed.
All inks contained, now switching cartridges.
Very fast.
Canon support is very good quality.
Excellent build quality (heavy).
Cons: Original cartridges are only partially full
Heavy (also a pro).
Some interaction at the printer (although minimal).
It's huge!

Summary: I have converted my fine art photography from Fiber Based Silver B&W media and Cibachrome color media to digital output.
Bottom line is control, consistency and most importantly image quality.
This is a new medium, and has strengths of its own, which allows me to adjust my portfolio for the strengths of this printer. I compared the other mid sized archival ink printers, and this had the winning combination of features, and after reviewing image quality, with my control of installed firmware (updates), drivers, images and paper, and comparing output to HP & Epson, I felt the quality was easily on-par if not more significant than the competition.
Also, the Canon ink set appears to provide a broader gamut in certain colorations, which, in many photos may not be critical, but from a graphic artists perspective this will most certainly set an image apart.
Also, had an issues of a missing part on shipment, after contacting Canon, their rep was actually in the states and spoke English, was helpful, thorough and prompt. They worked for my business. Refreshing to say the least.

Failed after 5 prints

Pros: Prints were excellent
Cons: Service poor. After one month printer still unrepaired.
