  Was awesome until recently!!

  Pros: Excellent print quality on papers up to 315gsm. Grayscale and color. I sell high quality art prints.

  Cons: Purchased in Aug 2007, now all of a sudden, the printer only prints partially and then feeds the paper, then says that, "there is no paper!" Well of course there is no paper, the dratted thing fed out the paper before finishing the print!

There best answer so far? -I need to get the unit repaired or buy a new one. I guess nearly $400.00 every 2 years is OK, by some folks, but I think that stinks!!!

  Fantastic printer - best colors superb paper handling

  Summary: I'm a professional artist and craftsman and I use my 9000 to print on a variety of specialty papers, including extremely heavy (30 ml) photo magnet paper. I've used HP and several other Canons before finding the 9000. Nothing has handled the media as perfectly, or printed so beautifully.
  
  Far as reliability, I don't recommend using reloaded ink cartridges or non-OEM cartridges. I learned my lesson doing that to an IP5200 when it destroyed the print head. ONLY USE ORIGINAL NEW CANON CARTRIDGES AND INK.
  
  Do that, and you have a workhorse printer that will serve you well.

  Gorgeous prints, a class act.

  Pros: Stunning print quality, quiet, and fast. In college I worked in the Graphics dept. print shop with some high dollar poster printers. This printer has the quality of units that cost far more. I am not sure I have seen pix this great from a photo lab.

  Cons: Nothing. I have a Samsung monitor that I thought had great color when I bought it, but I had to tone it down to print on a Canon IP6600. I have tried to calibrate the monitor to match what the 9000 can do but it cant match the colors in these photos.

  high quality large format printer

  Pros: I bought the pro 9000 in may for about $143.00 with a $300.00 rebate from Canon. I bought the 40D to qualify. I like 13by19 prints. Color&B&W are excellent.

  Cons: Ink costs! I made about 50 13 by 19" and it is expensive. I think if one is very carefull and selective about what you print you'll be ok.

  Summary: seems like there is always a blinking light for a cartridge that is at 10% so one must have several of each on hand at all times since it will not let you print even if one cartridge is almost out. Even though you have plenty of black you still can not print black only. Ink does not last long since the cartridges are very small and if you look, they are a little less than half full since the other portion is occupied with a cotton material which probably is what holds the ink for printing. Have deep pockets.

  Summary: I've had this printer for at least 6 months and I think it's perfect. I'm a pro photographer and I use it all the time for all sizes and have displayed my work in galleries and they look identical to the prints I've had done on the $7000.00 lab printers. What a bargain!! I 've printed hundreds pics on it and have NEVER had any problems at all. ZEEEEEE best!

  Summary: Bought this printer to print the pages of my portfolio. Was ready to print in 13 x 19 when I found the 14 x 17 option for paper size in the printer paper size menu. While I didn't have any real high resolution paper on hand, I used smooth Bristol as a substitute. On this lower quality paper I got some streaking (which was sufficient for this job), but when printing on the 13 x 19 the prints were perfect. When I print my next copy of the portfolio, I'll definately purchase the canon art papers and fully expect the 14 x 17 copies to be excellent as well.
  
  I experienced absolutely NO technical issues whatsoever. I suppose the printer is somewhat noisy when it's getting ready to print (but nothing compared to my dishwasher so it doesn't bother me).
  
  I also like how the entire printer can be closed when it's not in use.
