Summary: Left this review on Amazon.......will do it as many as I can, where ever I can.
I've been getting the run around from HP since I bought this thing. I wanted to take it back, they assured me they would get it running, I've had problems with it since I bought it, 3 years ago. Always had to call tech support to install the software and get the printer running. Took over two hours every time. Three times I've had to call over the years. Finally I called again, last weekend, when through the same process with tech support. Finally, they told me it was a Pinter Carriage problem.
GUESS WHAT, REPLACEMENT PRINTER CARRIAGES ARE FOR PRINTERS UNDER WARRANTY AND I WOULD HAVE TO BUY A NEW PRINTER......CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, HP SELLS DISPOSABLE PRINTERS, WHAT A SCAM. THEY SOLD A PIECE OF JUNK AND WON'T FESS UP TO IT.
Pros: Wide carrage, fast, not too expensive. I need the wide carrage to print 11 x 17 plans.
Cons: Ink is expensive (What ink isn't?). Causes problems with some programs.

Summary: I am running XP SP3, progeCAD 8 and 10 among others, latest drivers from HP for the printer. Deleated and installed several times. The problem it causes with progeCAD is when the program does a quick save, it takes about two minutes to do it and this diables the program from running while it is doing so. This operation should only take about 1 to 2 seconds. I also have an old HP Deskjet 952C and when it is the default printer, the program works as it should. Be aware of this when choosing this printer.
Pros: 4 cartridge ink. Colors were good match to my art program. prints came out fast
Cons: loud, reset sounds like it is going to spit parts out, dusty black/gray streak on right side of prints.

Summary: I really wanted to keep this printer. The image quality is very good. But with the pencil looking streaks starting right off on 11 x 14 paper I couldn't keep it. 8 x 10 there was no noticeable dust. The dust rubbed off but it may get worse down the line. I already have lived with a problem printer for a year. I could have lived with the noises. I ended up paying out double shipping fees. Maybe mine was a bad one the reviews were good I read else where on the internet. I paid $139 plus $20 shipping
