Summary: This product is leaps and bounds ahead of its 2005 version. I don't know what is taking the idiots at CNET so long to review this product. It's interface has been improved, it now detects PUP's along with Mcafee and Norton in realtime.
Overall, I don't know how good the functions are compared to Mcafee's (They're was ahead of Nortons)But it definately looks like a step in the right direction. The non hogging of system resources and the compatability with Prior versions of Windows, along with an excellent price tag cheaper than that of the competition, should see this product wipe Norton of the market.
Unfortunately many people are still to narrow minded to leave Norton and respect them for whatever garbage they release. In any security situation Trend Micro or Mcafee are what you should turn to. Zone Alarm is overrated and annoying, and Norton is bloated rubbish.
Hurry Up CNET and do a proper review of this product!!

Summary: I just got the PC-cillin 2006 and installed it without any problems. I got a virus with Norton 2006 antivirus so I got rid of that and switched over to Trendmicro. Took me a little getting used to setting it up but really love it. I also called Trendmicro and got good service and answers for some questions I wanted to know about some of the settings. Will buy it again! Down with Norton and McAfee.

Summary: Before having pc-cillin internet security 2006 i had symantec, after that mcafee .. both of them disappointed me .. I had few trojans/viruses in my pc that slow down my pc big time, the reboot was taking also 2 long.. and none of the antivirus software listed above could kill them .. I was very angry and was about to format my hard and before doing that i remember there's one more antivirus i didn't tried ...
I got the antivirus the pc-cillin internet security 2006 .. he killed them all and cleaned my pc..now it works very good, like new.., i am very proud of this antivirus and also recommend to all of you .. install it and forget about it, it does all the necessary work for you. From a scale to 1-10 I rate it to 10!

Summary: We're a TrendMicro reseller and out of the first 6 copies we've sold we had 6 returns whereas 2005 we've had zero returns. On our own system we noticed significant slow downs, system lockups and one machine that wouldn't even boot after installation. Not compatible with ANY other firewall (doesn't matter if the 'other' firewall is active or not - just being there will keep you from booting up) and has major problems with at least two VPN solutions. TM gave us a link to a 'toned-down' version that wasn't quite toned down enough so we're still working with TM on these issues.

Summary: We were diehard Zone Alarm fans until their prices creeped up so we switched to TM;s Pcilling Internet Seccurity. We were happy with 2005 version of Trend Micro, though we didn't use it on the high security setting. When realized we still had leaks (www.grc.com Leak Test) we tried to upgrade to the high security level. 2005 gave us problems, so like fools we upgraded to 2006 Trend Micro. I just processed one return, giving up after trying to make it work for weeks. Skype no longer works with 2006. LOOONG delays, which disappear as soon as we unload the Trend Micro firewall. No TM support so no cure.
TM's ability to have one person run a scan on the entire network was a big plus to us.
But TM's rulemaking is really substandard. In particulary, you have to write separate In/Out for all rules, whereas other programs give you the options of In, Out, AND In/Out. Zone Alarm is far more intuitive and allows us to operate at a high security level with relative ease, and without having to go to geek school.
Set at high security, TM asks you one time if you want to allow it. Zone alarm asks you if you want to allow it this time, or always, so if you're not sure that the .dll or whatever refers to, you can allow it this time and wait to see if it asks for the same permission the next time you add the program.
The anti-spyware program is worse than bad. It gives you a list of cookies its classifies as spyware, with a code type. It doesn't tell you what the cookie it, only the type, so you don't know if it is a cookie you want. And if you want to trust TM's evaluation and delete them, you have to do so one cumbersome cookie at a time.
This program is for people who don't need much of a firewall, so they can set their security on medium and hope for the best.
TM doesn't take phone calls, and only takes emails by webform, so if your problem doesn't fit into their mold, and if you can't attach a error file, you lose out - you can't even contact technical support.
I only renewed most of our company's TM subscriptions for another year 2 months ago, but have decided to can the renewals anyway, and pay for Zone Alarm as well, if thats any indication of how much I like this version. Wonder if I can sell them for a penny on ebay?

Summary: I had the 2005 version, which expired. I spent 72 hours, 40 phone calls, and unnumerable emails trying to get my subscriptin to renew.
My email went unanswered (for 3 weeks).
My calls were routed to people in Pakistan, who were only setup for technical help, not order fullfillment.
My complaints were ignored.
Buy this product if you only need a year of protection and don't plan on requiring ANY help.
Otherwise, steer clear of this one. The company's focus is on getting your $29.99, not on keeping you as a happy customer.

Summary: I strongly recommend staying clear of this product. Let me start off by saying I was a HUGE advocate of the 2005 version, recommending it to all my associates. I have done a complete 180 since upgrading to 2006. It is a mess. They screwed up a good product. Trend Micro's proxy server kept locking up. The only way to resolve it was a complete reboot. After turning off the service (I use Win XP Pro), it still did it! How does that happen? And when you turn the TMPROXY service off, you lose internet security! Their customer support stinks. After waiting 4 days for a reply, they said to shut the service down. Duh! Thank you Trend Micro. I am now demanding my money back.
If you are using v2005 stick with it. This is a VERY bad product.

Summary: I have been using products from Trend Micro for a few years after I was burnt by Norton. Updates daily help to keep spyware at bay. If you are currently having problems try housecall on their site, it is a free scan. Being an IT guy, I help many people out with their computers. Recently I have ran into three computers with over 15 viruses and worms. Not to mention the spyware. All of the systems were using Norton. I helped them reformat and put on PC-cillin 2007. If you do not want to be forced into formats, use this product or newer version. If you are experiencing lots of slow down and have Norton, start fresh and secure it with PC-cillin. Norton will not detect the viruses that are there, and they have probably wreaked havoc on your hard drive. PC-cillin is the only recommended security on Consumer Reports. Not sure why cnet.com has not caught up, but may be involved with Norton as a sponsor.
