Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave Pro price range: $79.95 - $139.00

The good: Comfortable keyboard design; rechargeable mouse only available in this package; impressive list of customizable features.
The bad: No discount on the bundle versus buying each device separately.
The bottom line: Although you don't get a price break by buying the package instead of the individual devices, we still consider this one of the best mouse and keyboard packages on the market. It combines an even better version of our favorite mouse and an equally adept keyboard at a very reasonable price.
The $130 Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave Pro marries the popular Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave keyboard with the Editors' Choice winning MX 1100 mouse. Although it might be more than you're used to paying for a mouse and keyboard set, the package combines two of Logitech's flagship input devices and the price reflects a substantial improvement over a budget set in features and build quality. Logitech adds more value to the bundle by including a rechargeable version of the company's MX1100 mouse, so we have no problem strongly recommending this package for office typists, home users, and light gamers alike.
In our review of the Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave keyboard, we came away impressed by its uniquely curved design. After using the keyboard for almost two weeks, we can confirm that the keyboard only gets more comfortable with time. Your experience might be different, but in all cases, the staggered heights and the overall shape of the key panel help drastically speed up the learning curve associated with a nonstandard keyboard design.
The Cordless Desktop Wave keyboard is powered by two AA batteries (one set included) that you can turn off to save battery life, and both the keyboard and mouse connect via a single USB 2.0 dongle. We also like the perforated wrist pad that sits at the bottom of the keyboard and keeps your hands at an ergonomic level, cutting down on the wrist pain that typically occurs after long typing sessions. The first time we reviewed this keyboard we expressed disappointment with the placement of the media and shortcut keys along the top edge. Nothing has changed in this package, but you can work around it by using the two smaller buttons above the numeric keypad. They're preassigned for the calculator and power on/off shortcuts, but you can change their functions in Logitech's SetPoint desktop software, which is included in the bundle.
The impetus of this package is Logitech's decision to include a rechargeable version of the MX 1100 wireless mouse. At the time of this review, you can only get the rechargeable version of the mouse in this bundle; if you buy the mouse separately, it comes with the standard alkaline nonrechargeable battery. It's nice of Logitech to include a unique product in this package, but it's bad news if you already have a keyboard. You still have the option of buying your own rechargeable batteries for the standalone MX 1100, but it's just an annoying aftermarket purchase.
The mouse that comes in this bundle also includes a USB mini receiver and adapter to charge the single NiMH battery. You can check how much juice you have left in SetPoint as well as reroute all of the button shortcuts. Logitech reports two months of life per charge, and after more than a week of daily usage, the software still informs us that its energy level is "very good." Read our full review of the MX 1100 mouse here.
The price of the Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave Pro package is the same amount as the sum of the two separate pieces, so while you don't get a price break, keep in mind that you'll save money on batteries thanks to the rechargeable mouse. And in either case, both products are some of the finest in Logitech's line of devices. We recommend both of them separately, so purchasing them together is a no-brainer.

Best overall mouse availible, and Superb keyboard.
by kerryderouen2 on October 25, 2008
Pros: Mouse is the best of all of the ones currently avaibile 10/08. The keyboard keys feel really solid and are quiet when you press them which makes for a great user experience.
Cons: Ive had some connectivity issues when restarting my computer. Im not sure if this is due to a setting. Upon restarting the computer, i occasionally get the bios telling me that there is no keyboard connected.
Summary: Ive tried all of logitech's and microsofts mice and this one is undeniably the best. Some might be concerned about the mouse's stealth button being clicked on accident, ...
Summary: Ive tried all of logitech's and microsofts mice and this one is undeniably the best. Some might be concerned about the mouse's stealth button being clicked on accident, however i have used it for 3 months and have not accidentally hit it once. The mouse fits my hand like a glove and everything from the on the fly adi adjustment to the dual mode scroll wheel works great! The keyboard feels fantastic when you press down on the buttons. The space bar could be slightly quieter(its really not bad...) . The wrist rest feels great on the wrist and the keyboard stand puts the keyboard at the perfect ergonomic angle. The mouse MAY bit on the slightly large side for those with small hands. Ive got medium size hands and if they were larger, the mouse would still fit like a glove. If you can spend $130(10/08) on a keyboard and mouse combo, there is no reason not to go with this deal unless you are looking for something even more ergonomic(Split top keyboard and vertical mouse or other). But with that being said, you will be paying more for something that probably isnt any more ergonomic then what you have here with the cordless wave pro.

Updated on Dec 5, 2008Over 2 months have gone by, and ive actually bought another set for work. I have no issues with either set and the few minor quirks that i had earlier are no longer issues.(The startup issue was PC related and not a keyboard issue) I am using one of them with a KVM switch at work. With the push of a buton i am controlling both PCs wirelessly without much of a hiccup or transfer.(its a cheap KVM by the way) . I strongly stand by my 4.5 star rating of this product.4 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

Wireless Mouse is a GIANT #FAIL
by rossdross on November 22, 2009
Pros: Love the ergonomic keyboard, wireless capabilities + rechargeable mouse feature.
Cons: The mouse simply DOES NOT work on many surfaces. I've tried a wood surface (desk), two mousepads and the only way I get it to work is after placing it on top of a CD, which doesn't provide much surface area to scroll

An essential part of my work-flow.
by Charles_Bronson on November 26, 2009
Pros: The mouse and keyboard are both highly customizable between programs or globally. Both are very comfortable to use for extended periods of time.
Cons: I miss the search engine button that my old MX620 mouse had. However, there is one on the keyboard, so it's still available. Also, for some reason the mouse sensitivity buttons that's there in it's place can only be customized globally.

Summary: As a graphic designer this mouse and keyboard have become an essential part of my work-flow. There's more than enough buttons on the keyboard to customize everything I need. Folders and programs can be set to launch with the touch of a button.
I should also mention that for those of use with big hands the large mouse is a plus.
The extra mouse buttons can be further customized to do different things in different programs. For example, in Indesign I use the side buttons to zoom in and out, but in Firefox they're used for page forward and back.
Setpoint, the program used to customize the hardware has been great in Vista. I've been using it for over three years and have had no problems with it.
I really don't have much bad to say about this keyboard and mouse. The fact that the mouse sensitivity button can only be programmed globally is a bit puzzling. All the other mouse buttons can be customized between programs, but not these two. Because of this I wouldn't have minded another button or two on the mouse, but it's really not a deal-breaker.

Great wireless combo board and mouse!
by klamuska on October 26, 2009
Pros: The pluses: the freedom of design and and movement. The larger than normal "delete" key an an immediate response "stand-by" key is a welcomed change from the slow Microsoft keyboard. I've yet to program the quick keys but will do so when needed.
Cons: The "Cons"? The key board is missing a "Caps" indication light to show when it's engaged.
Summary: I have been waiting to update my connected Microsoft Economical Key board with a wireless product. Knowing the expense with a wireless combo along with the lack of ergonomic design, ...
Summary: I have been waiting to update my connected Microsoft Economical Key board with a wireless product. Knowing the expense with a wireless combo along with the lack of ergonomic design, it was quite the wait. I found this combo at HH GRegg for 79.99. It wasn't a hard decision when it was all put together at a reasonable price Unplugged freedom...priceless!

Keyboard + mouse has no lag, is comfortable.
by rjgarnold on October 13, 2009
Pros: No lag for keyboard or mouse. Customizable keys.
Cons: Mouse a tad too large. Expensive--shop around and look at multiple vendors. I chose convenience of bricks-and-mortar this time because of having to return 2 others already (see summary below).
Summary: As opposed to the Desktop Wave (not Wave Pro), this product has no lag whatsoever--not with mouse or keyboard. Haven't even tried the customizable keys yet, but the design ...
Summary: As opposed to the Desktop Wave (not Wave Pro), this product has no lag whatsoever--not with mouse or keyboard. Haven't even tried the customizable keys yet, but the design is well thought-out, even though the mouse is a bit big for my hand. Nonetheless, I was very disheartened when I had to return 2 keyboard/mouse combos (Logitech Corless Desktop Wave)--the first for messed up mouse battery compartment, the second because of the aforementioned lab--and was suprised at this Logitech debacle, especially when I'd had very positive experiences with the majority of my Logitech equipment in the past. The Pro, although expensive, didn't disappoint AT ALL! Good feel to the keyboard as well, although I really only wanted a wrist rest, rather than the whole ergonomic thing.

Has made me completely rethink my computer experience
by backstorker4736 on September 24, 2009
Pros: PROS: Keyboard is so comfortable, Mouse is the one of the best gadgets I've have ever used, tons of customization, fairly cheap if you buy on amazon.com., great battery life, recharging on the mouse and the wireless technology!
Cons: CONS: Subtle lag present, but thats very rare, also software is a little clunky and keyboard and mouse sometimes forget settings, but that's a very very minor issue
Summary: You need to buy this for your desktop, it will rethink Peripherals, I'm sticking to Logitech and never going back, this is an awesome product. A must buy for ...

The best product Out There by Far!!
by onlyoneashley on December 27, 2008
Pros: To install this product could not get any easier. All you have to do is plug in the USB port and go! I personally bought a microsoft wireless 4000 and it would not give you a range beyond 6ft. With the wave pro, you work 33ft away from the computer.
Cons: The only problem would be the price. Spending $100 plus for a keyboard and mouse may seem unreasonable. But the price is wort it. Because The mouse and keyboard are luxurious and worth every penny of the money!!
Summary: I overall love this product because of the ease of use and comfort of the design. The mouse fits in your hand like a glove, and the keyboard could not ...
Summary: I overall love this product because of the ease of use and comfort of the design. The mouse fits in your hand like a glove, and the keyboard could not be designed more properly for how people type and position there hands. I needed a wieless keyboard and mouse so i could operate my laptop from my couch. I have the laptop connected to my tv. There is no cords what so ever. When they mention that it is wireless, it is truly wireless!! I would recommend it for anyone looking for a wireless keyboard and mouse. The wave pro is a must have!!!

My Logitech Wave Keeps Dying
by IhatetheLogitechWave on November 28, 2008
Pros: It is very sleek and it is very easy to use.
Cons: I have currently two logitech waves, one of them died and now will not work, the only buttons that will work are the ones that aren't keys. I am not able to use the keyboard anymore.
Summary: The Logitech Wave Keyboard may not work like with mine so it will be a waste.
