- Logitech's G15 Gaming Keyboard is an ambitious attempt at the ultimate frag aid. The LCD screen is an inventive addition, but other features such as customizable keys, blue LED backlighting, and built-in USB ports have more practical applications. If you're serious about gaming and like to tinker with mini apps, the G15 is the keyboard for you.

The good: Tons of keys and customization options; LCD screen can display in-game data and other info; backlit keys for typing in the dark; USB ports on back; toggle lets you disable the Windows key.
The bad: Large keys feel clunky; USB ports not USB 2.0; limited number of apps for the LCD screen, fewer still the average user will find useful; big.
The bottom line: Logitech's G15 Gaming Keyboard is an ambitious attempt at the ultimate frag aid. The LCD screen is an inventive addition, but other features such as customizable keys, blue LED backlighting, and built-in USB ports have more practical applications. If you're serious about gaming and like to tinker with mini apps, the G15 is the keyboard for you.

It's everything you need, except a useful USB HUB

Cons: USB Ports could be better

Unless you have space in front of your keyboard, you might find the USB ports dont have enough clearance to easily plug devices in... And when you actually do plug something in you'll find that many devices won't work because these ports don't provide enough power. The only device I've been able to plug in and use is a mouse. None of my flash drives work.
I really like the information displayed on the LCD (eg, CPU/RAM usage, media file titles, clock, or Game information). There are different levels of lighting... but why would you want to dim it down?
Hopefully more companies will provide game profiles for it in the near future.Updated
Ok flash drives probably work. It's these flash card adapters that don't. I have a USB Memory Stick adapter and a USB Compact Flash Card adapter that dont' work when plugged into the keyboard... I think the help file says that the USB ports on the keyboard don't provide as much power than the ports on my laptop.5 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: Ok I will not be typing up a huge 8 paragraph on why this keyboard is great and all. It is a keyboard and I gave it a 9 because it does what it is meant to do and adds extras. I don't care about the LCD screen that much, but I do love the backlit keys. Also a very handy feature is the ability to disable that windows button on the bottom left of the keyboard. One gripe; not wireless. I wish it was a wirless keyboard, if it was it would have been perfect. Well all in all an excellent keyboard, can't get any wrong with this thing.

Feature rich keyboard designed with the hardcore gamer in mind!
by obsolete_power on December 3, 2005
Pros: Very comfortable to use, is very feature rich, easy to use in the dark, backlight is evenly distributed accross to board, the lcd screen is large and well lit, the keys feel very soft and are quiet
Cons: Not a lot of apps created yet to support the LCD GamePanel, no shortcut keys

Summary: I love this keyboard primarily for the backlit keys and the 54 macro keys. I think this is a solid keyboard which is excellent for both gaming and professional use. The LCD Panel can tell you anything from system specs such as CPU and RAM load, component temperatures, voltages, network use, can support plugins for media players, will show game stats and is only limited to creativity. Eventually it will be able to allow for IM conversations when in a game or not in desktop. The sky is definitely the limit. It also has a nice rubber finish to it and is thin and portable. The keyboard also features a game mode button which when activated disables the windows and right-click key which is really nice since I always hit those keys and tab out of the game! I am convinced that when you try this keyboard you will not be able to let it go since it packs some serious heat!

Summary: I love this keyboard! It's the perfect keyboard for gaming and other purposes. The macro function is a cool feature along with the extra keys (18x3). The lighting feature is pretty badass too along with the screen directly infront of the user. It is clearly a logitech product and serves it's purpose as a keyboard (and more!)

problems with the keys
by theoander on September 10, 2006
Pros: Nice back lite, LOTS of programability.
Cons: Big footprint. The paint on my keys wore off within about 2 months. I dont mean a little wear showing, the keys are not un-readable. Very disapointing.

A great keyboard for general use as well as gaming.
by GavinSmith on April 26, 2007
Pros: Brilliant backlight, G-keys are useful not only in games but also in programs like Photoshop, multimedia controls are handy in-game, USB ports are great for jump drives
Cons: USB 1.1 ports (no big deal for small transfers), difficult to use w/o included wrist panel, multimedia controls only work in a few programs, 'gaming' mode useless, no way of indexing G-key functions

Summary: I've been using this keyboard for a couple months, and I absolutely love it. the backlight is absolutely perfect for late nights where it's more comfortable to have the lights off, the USB ports make using a thumb drive that much easier without buying another USB hub (although I don't understand why they didn't go ahead and make them 2.0). The keyboard looks great, although it is a bit big (understandable with a bunch of extra keys in place). The LCD panel is useful to an extent - it's great for monitoring system resources in-game and for viewing multimedia information, but to really take advantage of it well, you'll need a program like LCD Studio, which lets you program the display much more efficiently.
Overall, it's a great keyboard.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: First of all, ignore the idiot who suggest of having this keyboard on wireless cos he just wanna waste time and money on battery since he love the backlit keys sooo much, but he doesn't want the keyboard to draw power from the tower.
This keyboard is everything you can ever want, macro programmable and exec keys, Media control panel, Programmable keys to shortcuts, LED screen to view game details, monitor pc performance, clock, Media info and also a window start key disabler. Not to mention the rubber feel of thekeyboard itself, soft keys, and the slick blue blacklit with 2 brightness level and off. what can you ask more?
This keyboard is highly recommended and you will be pleased to be the owner of this magnificant peice of PC hardware.
And ignore retards who tells you anything bad about it.
Wireless...... ¬_¬ Pffssst!1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.
