The good: Allows for chatting and messaging over Xbox Live; solid tactile buttons; light-up display; comes with headset.
The bad: Chatpad attachment takes some getting used to on controller; backspace button location oddly placed.
The bottom line: The Xbox 360 Messenger Kit makes for the best text-entry option for chatting and messaging on the Xbox 360.

This thing is GREAT! But has quite a few CONS

Pros: Lights up
Messenger button
ergonomic design
Makes typing a breeze
comes with a headset
Makes the annoying voice message a thing of the past
Cons: The lighted feature drains the batteries slightly as you use it.
This thing make the controller considerably heavier and once your used to it not having it feels wierd
Certain headsets wont work because of missing slots
wont work with xbox games

Summary: Ok, for the price its ok. But it is very heavy and takes some getting used to. But it will feel good after you do. You wont wanna take it off because its feels odd not having it. This makes text messages so much easier, and ive ALWAYS HATED VOICE MESSAGES. You need a headset to hear them and you never can understand them. They are limited in how long they can be. But This makes it much easier to type text. But this will not work on xbox games only xbox 360 games. The missing slots wont allow for certain headsets, but the supplied one will work. This has made using text much easier and sensable. I hate it when people sent a voice message and you cant hear them, and you cant preview what it says because its not text so you have to go and listen to the message and find out its just someone sending a message to all friends asking you to join their fake clan.
But when used nicely its a really handy tool especcially in the dark as the illuminated keys are nice and bright.
All in all, this is a great thing to have, but is rather pricey. And is also kinda pointless if you dont have $60 to spend on xbox live. (thats why i prefer PS3)

Summary: I use the Xbox 360 wireless controller for PC because it allows me to use my 50 inch Plasma without tugging around a keyboard and mouse in my lap while on my couch and was wondering if this would work in that application- the controller works flawlessly (in the games I've played). This could possibly give me more keys for games since there are still a few keys that remain on the keyboard (i.e. Crysis Prone isn't keyed to the controller, still on the keyboard, map zoom on the mouse and so on).

Pros: Obviously, the ability to use a keyboard rather than thumbing through letters with the joystick
Cons: More than a few of my friends complained of my voice being too low when chatting with the headset. I tried adjusting all setting through the dashboard with no success.
