Summary: I have had my ID Pal for about three weeks now, and I must say, it's been a nice gadget to have in the toolbag. I used to write on wires with a sharpie, but that wasn't always as legible as I wished it were, especially with sweaty hands on smaller size wires. (phone lines)
The ID Pal has a good selection of font sizes (5) and wire wrap lengths from .75 to 6 inches long. You only use as much tape as required to mark your particular size wire. (for me .75" works great) If you work it out, that's about 336 labels per 21 foot cartrige, not bad.
The label backing is about 1/8" wider than the actual label, making peeling the label quite easy. Adhesive is nice and strong, and hasn't started to peel off anything yet, despite our recent heat wave.
If you're numbering wires, this little guy even has a "serial" function that will automatically increment to the next number up for you... a nice time saver.
There is also a general label mode, and a banner label mode for marking phone jacks or whatever else strikes your fancy.
Overall... A well thought out little machine, that prints good quality labels. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Go get one!
Pros: Good quality labels with several formatting options
Cons: After a little use, it starts to fall apart

Summary: When we first got this labeler, it worked great. But after a few months, it started having problems. The unit loses power if the plug is bumped. The unit often thinks it has thinner margins than it really has, preventing more than about six characters per line in even the smallest font. It often doesn't think there is a label cartridge inserted. We wrestled with it for a while after it started having problems, but the problems just kept adding up. We tossed it in favor of another brand. We'll see how it holds up compared to this one.
