Computer does not recognize this drive.

Pros: OK as a paperweight.
Cons: My computer just doesn't recognize this portable drive in My Computer... and so it is completely unusable. Huge waste of money.

Summary: My computer just doesn't recognize this portable drive in My Computer...I have followed the online troubleshooting instructions, several times, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, pulled all other USB devices off my computer and made sure to use both USB connections directly into the laptop and not into a USB hub, and while the device driver is seen, "My Computer" still doesn't recognize the drive itself, and so it is completely unusable. Have sent an e-mail to support, we'll see if anything comes of it.

Simply works for an abusively clumsy person

Pros: despite I loan my drive to my (could be clumsy) colleagues and despite my kids thinks it is part of their lego collection i'm pleased that it consistently works.
Cons: I may be pushy I would like to see 1TB+ version

Simpletech sucks

Pros: no pros on this device whatsoever
Cons: bought hard drive in feb and in march went dead and to top it off simpletech support was useless...tried everything and nothing worked i'm probably going to purchase a another hard drive but western digital this time
