- Bottom Line:
- The Color LaserJet CP1215 is HP's entry-level printer built to serve small workgroups, but it suffers from frustratingly slow print speeds, a missing LCD screen, and other problems. Your $299 will go much further with the Dell 1320c, another color laser with faster print speeds for the same price.

Pros: the unit is small and work well with Most operating systems! print very clear! NICE untit
Cons: I guess it does not work with Macs (so what) Mac makes things only to be used on there Things! So have Mac put out a printer and pay $1000 + for it !! but the real complaint I have with it the toner is expensive!
Summary: It work really good with my system! I have had no Jams or other problems so I think I would give it a favorable review ! I like it!

Great Printer - Well Satisfied

Summary: Bought this printer 12 months ago and still using the original toner cartridges. Have printed an approximate 7 reams of paper in that time period. I went to toner override after the original black cartridge ran out about two months ago - still printing strong. Color Cartridges show about 40% full yet. Printer is used in a home setting so not big print jobs, just regular home use. Printer has never once jammed. Prints heavy stock, can print envelopes by using regular tray and moving guides to fit envelope. For me, this has been far more convenient, and probably cheaper than an inkjet printer.

Great value for home color laser. Cheap but dependable.
by Crazyloch on November 1, 2010
Pros: Awesome value, started toner DOES last quite a bit, 100 ages and still going. :)
Quite and EASy to set up in windowsCons: Refill can be expensive, and Box was BIG lol but still good buy
Summary: I would buy another in a heart beat. I got it on Sale and can not complain at all. Still faster than my old inkjet.

HP Printers = Complete Scam
by spunkycomadina on October 12, 2010
Pros: It prints, well, printed in color.
Cons: Print options are rendered useless because HP does not keep up with Mac updates.
HP holds you hostage on ink (can't print in black when color runs out). This well-known HP scam is no surprise here, but it is still incredibly annoying.Summary: 1) I could knit a sweater in the time it takes to print a document. For certain PDFs, two sweaters. One for me, one for my pooch.
2) MAJOR DOWNER: ...Summary: 1) I could knit a sweater in the time it takes to print a document. For certain PDFs, two sweaters. One for me, one for my pooch.
2) MAJOR DOWNER: Like all printers, they give you starter cartridges (like 10% full). I quickly replaced the black ink ($70). A couple of months later, the color ink runs out (I maybe have printed 3-4 color things), THUS RENDERING MACHINE INCAPABLE OF PRINTING IN BLACK. HP now has you held hostage until you purchase new color toners. All three.
3) Said color toner runs nearly $270. The irony being that I could buy the same printer for $200 today at Office Max.
4) Office Max's "warranty" and "service" do not cover HP's inability to keep up with Mac updates. This rendered the machine useless after about a month of me having it.
5) Go on Craiglist, find an old laser black-white laser printer and avoid HP printers like the plague. -
Not an Office Printer
by Muskokavs on September 1, 2010
Pros: It prints color docs quickly
Cons: -Horrible with graphics
-Locks up all the time
-prints one copy and then freezes

Summary: We purchased this with the purpose of using for printing brochures, flyers, programs, newsletters. It freezes up on us everytime after maybe printing one page, it does not handle photos well or graphics. It has been one of the most frustrating printers I have ever used. We were mislead by the Staple's (I know we should have known better) review and now have to look elsewhere for a printer that meets our needs. Don't buy this if you need to print graphics!!!!

Summary: The last 3 inkjet printers I had I tossed out when the ink cartridges ran out. To replace them cost more than the printer. Because of the needless over-pricing of replacement cartridges, printers are pretty much "disposable" these days.
Sadly, that will probably be the case with this printer as well. But the reality of it is that it's still a good deal. Lets do the math... The 4 toner cartridges will cost about $300 to replace. The printer comes with 4 "starter" cartridges (about half full)... so its already got $150 of toner in it. I bought the printer for $150 with a discount for adding it to the purchase of a new computer. So basically, I bought $150 worth of toner... and got a printer for free.
In my home office, I still use my old HP Laserjet 1022 for basic document printing. Its 5 years old and still on the original toner cartridge. Nary a problem. Nary a paper jam. So I added color printing for a mere $150... (about 2 cents per page)... and even with 3 college students in-house. the limited starter cartridges should last well over 2 years. By then, the cartridges will either be more affordable... or I'll just go buy another printer with cartridges in it. ;-) -

Awesome Home Office - School printer!!!!!
by nicknamethieves on March 7, 2009
Pros: What I love about this printer is that it had a fair price (got it on sale), the print quality is fantastic, and the cartriges that come with the printer last. I REALLY MEAN IT.. they LAST!!!! I do lots of printing.. and its delivers every time!
Cons: The cost of the replacement cartrige is a bit pricey.. There is 4 to replace, and each one is about 70 bucks a pop. Also, when I bought this printer, it "looked" like it has CAT 5 network capability ... it does not.
Summary: You simply can't go wrong with this printer. Forget all the bubble jets. If you are like me, meaning you want to reliability each time, every time; if you ...
