Beware of these printers
Pros: Fast and inexpensive
Cons: High failure rate

3 started leaking toner within 2 weeks, all of them intermitantly give error messages (printer locks up, error on the LCD. Only a power off will fix it)
The drivers that came with them will not collate properly (make sure you get updated drivers)
We just tracked down a supplier with OLD 2300d printers that we are going to buy. These 2420's are crap, I wish they didn't discontinue the 2300 series as we've had about 35 of them since they came out. Not a single problem.
2100 - Paper pickup issues, bad fusers
2200d - Paper pickup issues, bad scanners
2300 - NO PROBLEMS
2420 - Driver issues, leaking toner, random errors
And to top it all off, HP wants us to pay for shipping to get these NEW printers serviced.4 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: This machine has been a work horse.
Cons: Toner is expensive but so are all other laser printers.

Bbought this printer to handle envelopes and card stock

Pros: This printer works great for small jobs printing envelopes and card stock and uncommon paper sizes.
Cons: Not good with legal size and jams too easy.

This is the worst printer I ever worked with

Summary: I have always had HP printers and this is the first one I did not like. It has mystery jams. I got the additional feed tray so I could have 1 tray for legal and one for letter, it will not print from the legal tray. If I load the letter tray fully it will lift the paper. We also have a 2300 in the office and that works great. When we ordered this printer we thought we were ordering something similar. I am sorry they discontinued that series.
