Great printer, horrible vendor
by cbanga on September 8, 2006
Pros: Workhorse, perfect for small business
Cons: If you buy from a deceptive vendor, like Infinity Micro, you won't get what you ordered and they will refuse your return.
Summary: I don't think I have ever been this angry about a purchase from a c-net affiliate. We specifically ordered a 4200n, with the intention of using it as a ...

Summary: I don't think I have ever been this angry about a purchase from a c-net affiliate. We specifically ordered a 4200n, with the intention of using it as a backup NETWORK printer. And while I'm usually hesitant about buying refurbs, it seemed like a good deal.
When the printer arrived, not only was it severely faded from exposure to the sun AND dirty (ok, it's a refurb, I can deal with a few aesthetic shortcomings), it didn't have a network card.
When we called and spoke to a supposed manager about the mistake, they refused to accept the INCORRECT product back and proceeded to astonish me further by using profanity. Needless to say, FedEx is on their way to pick it up and ship it back (at MY cost). Thank god I have the ability to dispute the charge on my credit card.

Pros: This printer is great! Hooked up to our network, it is fast, reliable, crisp and is very efficient. Shop around for best prices. I found a difference of $400-$600 between places.
Cons: Well, I am still looking for one.

Pros: very fast printing speed very good quality long life toner good sized paper tray easy to use
Cons: reliability sucks. our older HP products have a pretty good reliability track record, but our newer HP products are all dieing in the first year of service. We're ordering a couple of more HP products, and if just one of them fails I'll be ordering a co

No more HP for me. Too expensive to service.
by Mergatroid Mania on January 24, 2011
Pros: Great units when they are running
Cons: Very expensive parts from HP. If it breaks down, even though it's very expensive you'll likely just replace it rather than service it.
Summary: After a couple of years of service this HP broke down. A film came unraveled from the fixing unit (I've always thought the film idea was a bad one ...

Summary: After a couple of years of service this HP broke down. A film came unraveled from the fixing unit (I've always thought the film idea was a bad one for laser printer fixing units).
The entire fixing unit has to be replaced...retail $377. Uh, no thanks. I'll look for something else.
