Fast, But a Little Buggy
Pros: Good price, nice specs, fast performance.
Cons: The firmware seems pretty buggy. We've had several different problems with the printer crashing. Every couple days or so we get a "Service Error" message on the screen and the printer has to be rebooted. Also, I tried printing a large (1000 page) pdf o

Best workgroup series in the HP LAser line.
by laserdreys on June 1, 2005
Pros: fast, expandable, low cost of ownership.
Cons: Different cartridge than older 4200 and 4300

Summary: The 4250 and 4350 Laser printers by HP are by far the best workgroup printers out there right now. At 45 to 55 pages per minute they will have most jobs done before you walk over to the printer.
Average cost per page is under 2 cents, less if you use remanufactured cartridges. Maintenance kit is user replaceable, but wont have to be done for 250k+ pages.3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

A Super Printer
by sijmenjan on October 30, 2009
Pros: Super fast, big compatibility (using from 98 to Vista), very cheap toner ($0,007 cents per page), easy paper refilling, big paper trays (total up to 3100 sheets), has a sensor to check if the output bin is full
Cons: Makes alot of noises, and when it starts printing you hear booms (varying from 1 time to 10 times)
Summary: I like this printer - it's cheap (the toner), fast and easy.

Definitely NOT A Piece of ****
by gene1117 on September 8, 2009
Pros: This printer is amazingly fast--even from sleep mode, as commented earlier. Cartridge is very high-capacity, explaining seemingly high price.
Optional accessories allow this printer to do everthing but make your martini--including duplex printing.Cons: The "Cancel Print Job" function is a bit tedious--but it WILL work if you follow the directions--I've used it many times myself. You might be able to blame the slow cancel on the HIGH memory capacity--but is this really a bad thing?
Summary: An excellent medium-duty printer for the money. 200,000 copies per month duty rating is nothing to sneeze at! I have owned and used this printer for five years--no complaints.

Is a complete piece of ****
by Deion07 on June 18, 2009
Pros: If you love piece of **** printers then this one being a complete piece of **** should work for you.
Cons: Well, its a piece of ****. God forbid you should need to cancel a large print job, because if you use the "cancel job" option in this printer's menu it will continue to print every page of the job with funky symbols on the paper.
Summary: Overall, that's a pretty good idea. When developing a printer, the "cancel job" option should waste as much paper and ink as letting the job simply finish printing.

Poor drivers ruin a great printer
by tcm3565 on January 14, 2009
Pros: Fast and reliable - as long as you aren't using a Windows print server.
Cons: Drivers use HPZUI4wm.dll print processor.

Summary: The drivers install the HPZUI4wm.dll print processor, which is notorious for crashing the print spooler service and taking down all printing. HP claims that they have fixed the crashing in the current driver release but apparently this helps only if the driver installation is clean (not an upgrade), which means you can't use Print Management or install scripts to deploy the drivers and are forced to use Kyocera's Driver Deleter to clean out all the drivers from all the profiles on all the clients, which is completely unfeasible. The HP Universal drivers are way too slow (.NET), the old 4100 drivers use Winprint and have basic functionality but don't support trays/paper handling, and 3rd party drivers like Xerox are unsupported by HP.
Getting support from HP is a joke, all the techs I spoke with couldn't understand English well enough to recognize "print processor" wasn't on their Action Sheets. All they could recommend was to use the Universal driver, which takes about 5x longer to render the print job on our systems.0 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Fast, sharp, works well, but expensive
by ljkdhall on April 20, 2005
Pros: Clear, fast copies, easy set-up
Cons: Overpriced for what you get

Dell. Had always used HP's, but their price continues to go up and up, while competitors offer more for less. HP 4250 is an excellent printer, very fast to print, with excellent output.
However, Dell and others offer alternatives that is nearly as fast for half the price, and their quality is excellent as well. In short, love the HP printers, but not enough to spend $600 each more for the prestige of the HP name.
