The good: Fast prints; good print quality; very low per-page cost; lots of support options.
The bad: Expensive.
The bottom line: The HP LaserJet P3005 is a great mono laser printer for small- and medium-sized offices, but it's expensive. We think Lexmark's E350 series offers a better value.

Bad printer. HP should have a recall about this printer

Pros: Just a little bit faster than 2400 series
Cons: Board Malfunction in 3+ months. Should be recalled by HP.

Summary: We support a healthcare facility and have more than 50 printers of this model. Since last year, printers freeze in the middle of printing. We turn off then on the printer never can pass initializing process. It freeze right there. The fix for it is to replace the "formatter" (a board on printer), which cost $210 for part and plus labor.
If the printer out of warranty, we on our own. We have to replace the part for 15 of these printers already. We CANNOT get the part directly from HP. We have to contact our contract printer repair company (Universal Laser) for support. The printer guy said that this happens to a lot of his clients. He appriciates HP for giving him job security.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

horrible product. so many jams i wasted reams of paper

Pros: when it worked, print quality was excellent. unfortunately it rarely worked.
Cons: Worked well w/ light to mod use about 6 mos. Then incessant jams began. It was at authorized HP repair 3-4 wks where they replaced fuses(?) & other components. Worked about 3 wks & prob returned. HP sd formatting prob $295 + labor.

Summary: I used HP printers exclusively for more than 20 yrs. I pd a premium for what I thought was a reliable product. I am a small office & cannot spend hours dealing w/ equipment that doesn't work. It was at the shop forever & fell outside warranty period. Why pay $500+ for something that really never worked & the next repair (which MIGHT work) would cost $400. Sad to say, I will never buy an HP printer ever again.

Summary: Working in tech support for a POS company that has put 11 of these into the field (for one of our customers at their request). Over the past year that they have been used we have had 7 failures (apparently something to due with the fuser board in each case) - the repair of the units was covered under warranty by HP but not the shipping costs or downtime. It's a nice printer when it is working but not worth the hastle in my opinion.

Pros: Nothing good about this product.
Cons: Product died 1 month after 1-year warranty. 2nd printer doing likewise.
Sear the Internet for problems with this model. Bad chipset.

Lasted Almost 2 Yr!

Pros: Worked OK for almost 2 yr. Very light use in a small office- about 10 pg / day.
Cons: Like most HP products, it works great for about 2 yr, then catastrophic failure. Same with printers, desktops and laptops. No more HP for me.

Summary: I'm tired of buying HP products only to be severely disappointed in 2 yr when it dies. Two 6210's and this P3005 in the space of 5 yrs. That just isn't right. The desktop lasted 3 yrs only to fail and take everything on the HD with it. Enough!!
