Piece of JUNK!
by cook03tj on August 12, 2010
Pros: Great printer if you don't need to print
Cons: The color is horible when it does print, gets no where neer the 1200 pages per toner, stop working after 1 year and 1 week.
Summary: Bottom line is don't buy this thing. You will spend so much in toner. Buy a better printer where your toner $ goes further.

Laser printer "toast" after 15 months
by Bertrund on June 7, 2010
Pros: Passable definition on text. Nice, bright colors on pictures and grafics.
Cons: After 15 months of limited home use I was told the board was shot, that the feed sensor would no longer function and the printer was not worth fixing. I was on my 2nd set of toner cartridges, which cartridge cost exceeded the cost of the machine.
Summary: I don't think I will buy a Samsung unit again, given the dependability of this machine. They break. While it was working it was an OK machine. But even ...
Summary: I don't think I will buy a Samsung unit again, given the dependability of this machine. They break. While it was working it was an OK machine. But even then, the cartridge life--number of copies--is very limited. I guess you get what you pay for, and this unit was no exception. I paid a relatively low price and got a low-quality product.

Nice size and quiet but it chooses what to print
by valina49 on April 22, 2010
Pros: Fits on top of my desk and is quiet in between printing unlike the HP which belches frequently. The print quality is suitable for fast prints and draft documents.
Cons: Periodically it will not print documents. The icon for printing and the print window appear but the document will not print. Samsung ignores email requests. They are never available on line or by phone to help. Service Stinks! You are on your own.
Summary: Nice little quiet printer that produces good draft documents when it is in the mood to print. Service is non-existent. Toner cartridges are small as necessary for the overall size, ...
Summary: Nice little quiet printer that produces good draft documents when it is in the mood to print. Service is non-existent. Toner cartridges are small as necessary for the overall size, so they need to be replaced frequently and they are expensive. If it were not for the loud belching the HP does every 15 mins I would have purchased the slightly larger HP. It produces better quality prints and the toner cartridges last longer. It is just the disruptive noise I cant stand and the Samsung is completely quiet when not in use.

5. Small paper tray capacity.Summary: Only thing that concern me is the image printing quality. Text quality of course it's laser quality. When set printing quality to "Best" the quality is comparable to good ...
Summary: Only thing that concern me is the image printing quality. Text quality of course it's laser quality. When set printing quality to "Best" the quality is comparable to good inkjet, but no wetting, smudging. This's really good deal for home users.

Excellent inexpensive Color Laser for SOHO / Home
by goosedude on February 17, 2009
Pros: CHEAP.....especially if you can get it with a 100$ Rebate. Inexpensive replacement Cartridge vs comparable products. Easy Setup. Small Footprint for Color Laser.
Cons: Not blazingly fast Color Printing Speeds, No dedicated Cancel Button, No Manual Feed
Summary: I've had this Color Laser Printer after seeing a too-cheap-to-resist rebate deal at Staples awhile back. Suffice to say this item ended up costing about a single Benjamin after ...
Summary: I've had this Color Laser Printer after seeing a too-cheap-to-resist rebate deal at Staples awhile back. Suffice to say this item ended up costing about a single Benjamin after rebate.....and at that kind of price this is an absolute steal.
This replaced an HP Monochrome Laser P1006.
Setup was pretty painless with Windows Vista, Setup Materials and Manuals have clear instructions. While not as svelte as my old P1006....it's footprint isn't that much larger but I noticed was smaller than most Color Laser Printers available.
Been using it regularly and with high quality color laser paper I have gotten pretty good print quality. I can see how some would say that colors could be a little light versus more expensive color lasers....but c'mon you are paying 4x the cost for such printers.
This is an excellent cost-effective Color Laser Option for Home Users and a SOHO......1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Had two, both get two stars.
by Eric78DX on January 10, 2012
Pros: Cost of the machine is perfect. I bought my first one for around $90 from Tiger Direct and the second one for about the same cost at OfficeMax.
Cons: The first one stopped recognizing new toner cartridges and wouldn't print. The second one is a little off with the line-up of the printing. Samsung doesn't have a solution to either problem. Great phones, tvs and other electronics but printers? Nope.
Summary: The first one I had stopped recognizing new cartridges after about a year. The orange light stayed lit. I turned it off and on, unplugged and plugged back in to "...
Summary: The first one I had stopped recognizing new cartridges after about a year. The orange light stayed lit. I turned it off and on, unplugged and plugged back in to "Reset" the machine. No go. I even cleaned out the little toner dust bin. Still nothing. I had new cartridges for the machine and wanted to find it out there again. I thought I get a dud.
The second one I found was brand new. Out of the box it worked great. After I set it up and printed a few sheets I thought it had to warm up or get "broken" in, but the reds comes out with an orange tint and the line-up of the colors on the paper are off. If I print an image you can tell where the red an blue overlap.
Basically, you get what you pay for. $90 color laser is going to give you a printer that prints, but it may stop working, stop recognizing new toners or print in a way that isn't exactly lined up.
I recommend buying a color laser with 4 stars or higher and pay the extra bucks to get a nice printer that you won't have to replace twice in a four years. -
What good is a printer that does not print?
by matttys on July 29, 2011
Pros: Great, quite and small printer, when it runs.
Cons: Began jamming at about a year old. Customer No Service denied any claim, saying it was out of warranty. Period. Even threats of Federal Trade Commission reporting did not phase this young woman. Pathetic.
Summary: DO NOT BUY.
