Great monitor - ridiculously inexpensive
by UberRocket on March 13, 2008
Pros: Beautiful, crisp digital display - works great as a laptop dual monitor
Cons: No portrait mode support in vista, only 1680x1050 rez

Summary: Not sure what one of the user rants below was going on about, but this is really an exceptional monitor for the price. Works amazingly as my external monitor for my Sony SZ laptop...
Two downsides:
- would it have killed them to ratchet this up to 1900x1600?
- vista drivers do not seem to support portrait mode...which I'm ok with, I would never use it in portrait anyway
For $325 at BestBuy, you can't beat this thing.
BTW - anyone having issues with dual or triple monitors on Vista, check out the UltraMon utility. Works like a champ.3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Fantastic Picture Quality
by gte747e on May 14, 2008
Pros: Picture Quality, Brightness, Portrait/Landscape Modes
Cons: The Depth of the base is too large, and rotating the screen can be tricky
Summary: This picture quality and brightness of this display are awesome. I have a bright light behind me and reflection has not been a problem when the monitor is on.

The ability to rotate the screen is awesome to view documents and web pages.
Negatives:
The base (which may be necessary to handle the size and rotation) seems too large. In other words, the depth is increased. I wish it was more compact. Also, I like the screen rotation, but I have my display on a PC desk with a hutch overhead, and I am not able to rotate it while in its position in the hutch. Not a major sacrifice, but a negative nonetheless. Overall, I highly recommend and do not regret the purchase. Blu-Rays and HD DVD look great on it.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Superb display
by BosoxMan on July 21, 2011
Pros: Bright, sharp, high contrast, two USB ports, convenient controls, rotates to portrait display, organized cabling, looks great.
Cons: Adjusts vertically, but no tilt; requires room behind screen.

Summary: I got this from HP as a refurb about 2 years ago, and paired it with a Mac Mini. I love the look, which comes close to the iMac aesthetic (glossy black bezel, aluminum stand, cabling out of sight), and based on my experience I can strongly recommend it to anyone with a Mini.
One caveat, if you have a shallow desk, is that the stand is a bit on the deep side: the front of the screen will be at least ten inches from the back wall. Make sure that leaves room for your keyboard. -
An AMAZING way to surf the web
by 5StarRatedRecords on March 15, 2011
Pros: Excellent resolution. Great size, great color, beautiful design. Surfing the internet while in portrait mode is an incredible joy.
Cons: I would say cost, but I got mine for like 160.00 off ebay. It's still like new. So I guess no cons.
Summary: It's like this product was designed to demonstrate how the internet should be viewed. I have it connected to a MacBook Pro and in portrait you seen full length ...

Would buy 10 of them if I could afford them,
by CooleGuy on August 23, 2010
Pros: The overall size not too big and not too small. I use dual monitors with my work and find this size perfect. Someone said it lacks a portrait display. Evidently they never realized you can turn the monitor 90 degrees to achive this feature.
Cons: Price is a bit too high. I bought a different manufacturer monitor that has all the same features and it was $100 cheaper than the original one.
Summary: Overall the montior is perfect for ny usage. The 90 degree turn is great for working long databases andother functions where you need the depth. With a dual monitor setup ...

Great, versatile using w/ 8710w laptop/docking station
by UptownEB on December 3, 2009
Pros: HDMI, almost unlimited positioning for people with neck issues :) Great in dual monitor mode but only if set as main.
Cons: Power mgt on laptop causes erratic results so I just turned it off and make sure and use the ext monitor as the primary and let Vista (using 64 bit) optimize.
Summary: I have been using this for a year and even with a 3 yr ext warranty I paid under $300 so it was a good deal. I often just sit ...
Summary: I have been using this for a year and even with a 3 yr ext warranty I paid under $300 so it was a good deal. I often just sit on the couch using wireless mouse and keyboard and my 52" so I haven't used the monitor every day.
