The good: Front-desk-friendly design; reasonable price; optional warranty upgrades.
The bad: Preset modes for brightness, contrast, and temperature are buried in the onscreen menu; not appropriate for precision color work.
The bottom line: The NEC MultiSync LCD1970VX is a reasonably priced, well-designed LCD that will fit most users' needs for flexibility and image quality.

Summary: I dont know what CNet is talkign about, but i have this monitor, and i love it. everything is sharp, including text, not just images.i have a 19 inch screen, so its nice and big, but very flat, doesnt take up half the entire desk liek my old CRT monitor did. Colors are very sharp and bright. An add on bonus is the speakers. they come with speakers, which work VERY WELL. i have dell speakers with really suck compared to these built in ones on the monitor. now speakers dont take up so much space on my desk. I got this monitor from my job, but if you can get one some how, i would trully recomend it, its amazing.
