Much better than expected.
by Naushie on August 8, 2011
Pros: I love the clear display - it looked much better than the display that I saw. It is a very good size and the design is flawless.
Cons: It attracts dust like an over-oiled bike chain! My software CD didn't work, but I scrounged around to find the software that I needed.
Summary: Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality, affordable wide screen monitor. If I had to get another monitor I'd definitely go for this one.

Summary: I purchased the 226BW 22-inch monitor (I also own a T240HD) and registered it online, taking advantage of Samsung's WRITTEN promise of a 3-month warranty extension (over and above the 3-year standard warranty). My standard warranty expired on July 28, 2010, leaving 3 additional months available. Confirming my theory of planned obsolescence, the monitor flickered and died on September 27. By my calculations, that means the monitor remains under warranty. I went to Samsung.com, logged into my account, and immediately found my monitor listed in my profile. (I also made note of the splash screen on the website that continues to promise a 3-month extension if one registers their monitor- this is current as of today, September 30, 2010.) I contacted Customer Service and spoke to the executive director. She agreed that Samsung does make the 3-month extension promise, but that she was refusing to honor it. She gave no reason, just saying that she did not intend to extend the warranty. That's it. No discussion. End of story. I respectfully disagree, and warn any readers of this post of the road they face should they experience a Samsung monitor failure.
