Good Deal, One Annoying Problem

Summary: I'm happy with my purchase overall, but when the monitor is showing a dark image, it is as though light is leaking in at the top and bottom edges of the display. The light is more apparent towards the middle of both edges. For the most part this won't be a problem for me, but if I were to be using this monitor to view letterboxed movies, I would be very very frustrated.

Okay, but expected much more out of ViewSonic

Pros: Haven't found one yet, except the wide format is great for working on speadsheets, but that would be the same regardless the brand/model.
Cons: Dead pixels; need to upgrade video card; can't adjust to true color, plus contrast and brightness does not adjust well.

Summary: I researched so many flat panels and although read about several cons with this model, I have trusted ViewSonic for many years and decided to give it a try. I am somewhat disappointed in that I had to upgrade the video card to get the resolution up to where the display was not blurry; I still am struggling with correcting colors and trying to get contrast/bright right; PLUS I am shocked and frustrated by there being so many dead or misfiring pixels. Wish I would have gone with Acer V223W which is what we have at my office and which displays beautifully and costs about $40-$50 less. On board speakers are also a wash on this model.
