The good: The ViewSonic VP2365wb has plenty of ergonomic options, a great lower-viewing angle, and accurate colors.
The bad: The ViewSonic VP2365wb has a fragile-feeling chassis and a panel that shifts colors at off angles. Also, it has a low brightness and no HDMI connection.
The bottom line: The ViewSonic VP2365wb has solid performance, but its low brightness gives images an overall dull look.

Great monitor. This review completely misses the mark.
by bstauffer on January 5, 2011
Pros: IPS panel, height-adjustable stand, pivot
Cons: Bright power light
Summary: I don't know if this reviewer looked at the same monitor, or perhaps had a defective one. At full contrast, it is blindingly bright.

This monitor has an IPS panel, and people that buy monitors with IPS panels are seeking accurate color rendition. They are not looking for colors that are "vibrant" or have "pop". The two monitors that are mentioned as alternatives both have inferior TN panels, and are not even in the same league as this one.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Agree with other comments, reviewer missed this one!
by Mongrel333 on March 4, 2011
Pros: IPS panel technology. VERY accurate colors. Solid native contrast and black level. More than bright enough for my needs.
Very good case ventilation.
What color shift???
Great ergonomics. Tilts to vertical for portrait editing. 360 base.Cons: Blue power light is blinding! Easily fixed with a small piece of electrical tape.
Fairly wobbly when in portrait view at full height. Slide down until case touches base to partially alleviate this.Summary: Good for:

Anyone looking for a low cost IPS panel suitable for photo or video editing, or anyone who just wants an accurate image. Any other monitor this good will cost you twice as much.
Bad for:
Sitting on a T.V. tray. Don't get this if you want consumer grade junk with blown out color, or gimmicks like 10 billion to 1 dynamic contrast.
IPS panel technology, used in monitors costing thousands of dollars. I did quite a bit of research to find a good cheap photo editing monitor, and got the VP2365wb a few weeks ago. VERY accurate colors. Solid native contrast and black level. I have my contrast set to 70 and my brightness at 40 just to bring the brightness down to a comfortable level of 130 cd/m2, which is fine during the day and actually a little too bright at night in my work location.
Very good case ventilation helps insure the panel temperature stays stable, and colors remain accurate. Maybe this is why it feels "hollow" and "fragile"? Feels fine to me.
I'm looking at the monitor right now from the sides top and bottom and see no color shift at all.
Great ergonomics. Tilts 90 degrees to vertical for portrait editing. Base rotates 360 degrees. Panel tilts about 20 degrees back and about 5 degrees forward!
This is easily the best monitor I have owned, or seen!1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

High quality, bright and colour accurate monitor
by Dajoca100 on November 17, 2010
Pros: Same panel as the much more expensive Dell U2311 and NEC EA231WMI. Feels great quality and is easy to adjust.
Cons: Power LED is way too bright. That's it.
Summary: Erics review, states that the monitor isn't bright enough... I must disagree.

I am using it for photographic work and to calibrate it to the standard 120 cd/m2, I still had to reduce the brightness to 45%, so the monitor is plenty bright enough, unless you are used to getting your eyeballs seared.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I really like this monitor. It is worth the extra money to upgrade to An IPS panel. If you consider yourself an an advanced photogragher, this panel fits the bill. Color accuracy is excellent. Pro photograghers and gragic artists might want something a little bigger, but for the hobbyist, this monitor is hard to beat
