The good: The ViewSonic VX2450wm-LED has a simple, clean design, and pretty good performance at a very affordable price.
The bad: The display is low on options, including the missing HDMI connection. Its OSD offers nothing new, and getting to what few connections it has can be a pain.
The bottom line: The ViewSonic VX2450wm-LED is a thin LED monitor with pretty good performance and a rock-bottom price.

Viewsonic VX2450WM-LED 24-Inch Review
by David-Tipton on March 31, 2013
Pros: -Big crisp screen 1920x1080 resolution
-Under $200
-Decent sounding speakersCons: Volume adjustment is a little annoying but not really a big problem since windows has volume controls.

The Monitor:
The packaging it came in was professionally packaged and when you open up the box you will find your monitor very neatly tucked inside foam so I don't think you have to worry about any dead on arrival monitors.
This is my first time buying such a large monitor and the image quality is excellent. I find myself just looking at my desktop wallpaper in 1080p and admiring how nice it looks. It is also very nice to have so much more space on my desktop to place icons and reading webpages is a lot easier on such a big and crisp monitor. I also have another monitor connected to my pc and when I compare how this monitor shows text compared to my smaller 17 inch 1280x1024 resolution monitor the difference really stands out.
For the gamers out there I've played several PC games with this monitor at 1920x1080 and the crispness and sharpness of the graphics are really impressive. Starcraft 2 especially looks amazing on this monitor running on ultra settings.
The buttons on the monitor are pressure sensitive and are not actual buttons which aesthetically looks very nice. The menu of the monitor is very organized and it is easy to access the options. Changing the volume is a little bit annoying since you have to go inside the menu but overall it isn't a big problem since windows has it's own volume controls.
The Speakers:
The quality of the speakers are not the greatest in the world. They get the job done if you want to hear a song and the quality is decent. I use it occasionally to play songs on YouTube and it does not sound muffled or anything.
For around $200 this is more of a bonus. I can certainly see my self enjoying the speakers from time to time.
Conclusion:
For under $200 I can't find any REAL cons to this monitor. I am very happy with my purchase and plan to buy a second one along with a stand to mount both my monitors together.

Good price & good performance, great for multi-monitor.
by BrianLayman on October 20, 2011
Pros: Excellent price.
Good image. I have good black contrast on my three and I never noticed the green preference, but then I did adjust the color right away.
Consistent color temp between all three.
Very light. This helps for moving them around if I need mCons: Speaker is lousy. Very tinny, but do you really buy a monitor for the speaker?

Summary: This is an excellent choice for a multi-monitor configuration that doesn't break the bank. It's a reasonably priced monitor with quite acceptable performance. If you are purchasing a single monitor for an entertainment center and need good sound, this is not the monitor for you. If you want a good quality entry level 24" monitor that is affordable, if you're trying to finally get rid of those old CRTs or if you plan on purchasing multiple monitors, this is good choice.

Nice, but underwhelming color.

Summary: I got this is as a secondary monitor and after a week with it I am somewhat underwhelmed. I know it is a very cheap 24 inch monitor so I can overlook a lot of things. For the money you are getting a lot of monitor. I might be spoiled since my main monitor is a 27 inch Cinema Display, and this thing can't hold a candle to it, but at the end of the day this is a real good value for money, and if used as a secondary monitor it more then meets expectation. If you work in graphics or video only buy this if you use it as a secondary monitor to view files as the color is not any where near professional.

Big and bright but slow to wake from sleep. Poor stand.
by Al_Q--2008 on November 11, 2010
Pros: Big enough for 2 pages of text. Bright strong colours. Very clear. LED backlight makes it cool and energy-efficient. Comes with cables. Good price for its size.
Cons: Poor speaker (my Macbook Pro's built-in speakers are better).
Base is short, with tilt but no swivel and no height adjustment.
From standby often takes over 10 seconds to wake up, then often displays static for 10 more seconds.Summary: I think I got excellent value for the price I paid (on sale). The screen image is far superior to my old 17" monitor. I can put up with waiting ...

Gives me a headache - blurry, poor color representation
by flanjerka on August 10, 2012
Pros: Inexpensive. Large. Doesn't get hot.
Cons: Blurry even on the highest resolution settings, poor color representation, tiny viewing angle. This monitor will give you a headache if you use it for more than an hour.

Summary: My work purchased this monitor for me as a secondary display. I would NEVER have spent my own money on it. I work as a web developer, and stare at two screens all day long. One screen is on a Dell XPS 15z laptop, which is beautiful, sharp and accurately displays all colors. This Viewsonic VX2450 monitor is utter crap. The screen is blurry, even with the highest resolution settings. The color representation is way off, so no matter how I tweak the monitor's settings, everything is slightly more purple and red than it should be. Worse than the poor color representation, the monitor's vertical viewing angle is TINY.
What does that mean? If you look at a white screen on the Viewsonic VX2450, as you raise or lower your head (which changes the viewing angle), the top and bottom of the white screen show different amounts of blue and red. That's right - depending on your height relative to this piece of crap monitor, "white" appears with a blueish tint on the bottom and a reddish tint towards the top. Simply horrible. There is NO WAY to get in the right position / viewing angle no matter what you do. My best option was to tilt the monitor TOWARDS me be about 5 degrees. That seemed to be the only way to get a white screen to ALMOST display the same white color top to bottom, but it is still not correct. This terribly small vertical viewing angle is further evidenced by the fact that the monitor casts a red glow over everything directly in front of it (in this case, my hands on a keyboard), which means the red LEDs are mostly casting their light downwards while the blue LEDs are casting their light upwards. Terrible, terrible design.
I am deeply disappointed with this monitor. I would not recommend it to ANYONE. After a few hours of use, the red glow on my hands and the blurry screen are giving me a headache. You are getting what you pay for, and the Viewsonic VX2450 is just junk. Perhaps LED monitor technology is not ready for prime-time, but for now, you should spend the money to buy something better. Unless you don't care that the screen is constantly blurry and the top appears reddish while the bottom is blueish.0 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.
