Magic Mouse brings the touchpad to the mouse.
by yrr3j2 on March 23, 2010
Pros: The design in fantastic, and the scrolling is as responsive as the trackpad on my MacBook Pro.
Cons: It seems as if I need a mouse pad the size of a desk, and textured surfaces slow it down.
Summary: Save the money and wait for Apple's next beautiful mouse.

Nice functions, looks nice ruins your wrist.
by danjchau on November 24, 2009
Pros: Good scrolling and swiping, looks nice.
Cons: EXTREMELY poor ergonomics and gives you cramps. It is too slim and after much use, can potentially cause carpal tunnel.
Summary: Don't buy this unless you are willing to sacrifice looks for the poor ergonomics. You will want to switch to a proper mouse after a few days.

Cool mouse-for Apple worshipers
by ajakez on November 17, 2009
Pros: Cool possibilities with gesture tech
Cons: Too much concentration on coolness, me first-ness, and Apple's pseudo-Deco regimented aesthetics, but little thought about
functionality.
Summary: This mouse does not feel as comfortable or as natural as other more traditionally accepted ergonomic designs. The slimmed down design does not allow one enough maneuverability. It is so ...

Summary: This mouse does not feel as comfortable or as natural as other more traditionally accepted ergonomic designs. The slimmed down design does not allow one enough maneuverability. It is so disappointing to see the premier "Attention-to-details" hardware company mess it up like this. They seemed to not have paid attention to the hand at all. But many users of Apple product won't even notice these defects. I'm going to store it away next to my Apple Newton and my Apple iBook 3G museum pieces.

DISAPPOINTED--WHY ISN'T THE TOUCHPAD A MOUSEPAD?!
by ExecutiveSuite on November 2, 2009
Pros: Overall a pretty good device. The styling we've come to love and expect from Apple. Very good range.
Cons: I simply dont understand why the most obvious of features is missing. The entire surface COULD be a mousepad like that on the laptop, but IT'S NOT. Mouse itself must still be moved physically across the surface. Wasted DESIGN OPPORTUNITY. Grade: FAIL
Summary: It's a very good product. Could have been a great one. Can't see why this feature isnt there, as it must be a software / programming issue, and not ...

Summary: It's a very good product. Could have been a great one. Can't see why this feature isnt there, as it must be a software / programming issue, and not a hardware issue, because the functionality of scrolling by touch is already in it. I just hope there's a software issue coming down the road to improve this. (Instead of a new hardware version that makes this one the "old model.") Distrubing.

A review from someone who actually owns one
by canoehead10 on October 31, 2009
Pros: Performs like a sports car. The feel, the weight, the accelerometer and the pointing become effortless; an extension of your interaction with the screen.
Cons: Takes a bit of getting used. Have to train your thumb and baby finger to stabilize the mouse so you can move top fingers for multi-touch. The complainers have ceased to evolve, I guess.
Summary: It took a session to get used to it, but is a wonderful mouse. One of the interesting side benefits of it's size and getting used to holding it ...

Summary: It took a session to get used to it, but is a wonderful mouse. One of the interesting side benefits of it's size and getting used to holding it between your thumb and baby finger is that you can make micro movements under the palm of your hand with it without moving your entire hand like you do with the 'ergonomic' giant mice. This is brilliant. I love the accelerometer.
I disagree with your reviewer. He doesn't get this mouse at all. The review comes across as just lazy.

Don't own it but how can it be reviewed so fast?

Summary: Gave it a neutral rating (since I don't own it) but, like the iphone keyboard, don't you need to be with a product for a few days, few weeks, or a few months before you truly get used to something. Here, the reviewer said he was longing for his old product. But, I'd be curious to know what his review is in January after 3 months of testing.
Some things just need to be gotten used to in order to feel their true benefits.

Nothing will ever replace a real, physical BUTTON!!!
by hermantf on November 9, 2009
Pros: It works, albeit awkwardly. It's innovative. It looks cool.
Cons: No physical buttons.
Summary: I don't get the trend, seemingly started, or at least hugely perpetuated, by Apple, to eliminate the lowly, but hugely functional button! Touch screens, gestures, pinches, swipes, double taps, ...

Summary: I don't get the trend, seemingly started, or at least hugely perpetuated, by Apple, to eliminate the lowly, but hugely functional button! Touch screens, gestures, pinches, swipes, double taps, triple taps, etc., are all very cool and appreciated, but nothing comes close to the way a real physical button performs and feels.
A suggestion to Apple and other designers/developers....
Do us all a favor and start setting a new trend: BRING BACK THE BUTTON!!!!

And you commented because?

Pros: Another great device from Apple.
Cons: Funny that they aren't even shipping it yet but all the dweebs here are posting negative reviews. Nice try... come back later for the real story.

Summary: I'm sure it will work great. But like the others here, haven't tried it because they aren't shipping it yet. Also, touch function on a mouse or keypad makes so much more sense than on a sceen (here that MSFT?) - it is not efficient to be moving your whole arm in an outstretched motion to do basic functions that you can more easily achieve with a trackpad.

looks like nursing shoes
by lorakeethappenstance on October 26, 2009
Pros: Some good features
Cons: why does everything apple makes have to follow the same aesthetic: futuristic hospital?
Summary: Apple's hardware might last well, but I have yet to see an apple product over two years old that doesn't look at least twice that.
