The good: Quick learning curve in the air or on a tabletop; Mac- and PC-compatible software lets you customize macros; USB charging.
The bad: Lightweight plastic feels cheaper than older models; small buttons prone to accidental key clicks; USB-housed RF dongle won't double as storage device as with previous Gyration mice; inability to add motion-controlling apps to software.
The bottom line: The latest Gyration Air Mouse Elite is a welcome relief from "mouse arm" and works well as a presentation device for intermittent use, but it lacks the flair of other pointing solutions. You'll certainly find satisfaction in the Gyration Air Mouse Elite if you're just getting into the gyroscopic market, but if you want the best of the best, we recommend spending more on the Logitech MX Air.

Looked good, worked at desk, but failed in lecture hall

Pros: Worked fantastically at my desk. Nice features, felt a little weird in hand, but after an hour it was easy to use. Good software to customize, I was excited to use the mouse as a presenter which was the reason for my purchase.
Cons: I set up the mouse on my computer for my class in a 500 student lecture hall. I couldn't get 4 meters (about 12 feet) away from my computer without the mouse disconnecting. I tried the lecture halls computer... same thing, disconnect at 4 meters

Summary: I purchased this mouse because of a good review of youtube, but the mouse failed for what I needed it for... as a presenting device in a large lecture hall. I was unable to return the mouse to the store due to a "no return" policy. Gyration's customer service was fast, but only offered a replacement.
Save your money if you are looking for a presenting tool. I venture to say that a basic device would work better than this "elite" mouse for this aforementioned purpose.
