- Bottom Line:
- The Anywhere Mouse MX bears Logitech's multiconnective Unifying receiver and glass-tracking Darkfield laser, but $80 is too much for a portable mouse--especially when the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 costs half the price for almost the same features.

The good: Darkfield technology tracks on any surface including glass; Unifying receiver pairs easily with other Logitech peripherals; power button conserves battery life; runs off a single AA battery.
The bad: Pricier than other mobile mice; smooth vertical rocker lacks precision.
The bottom line: The Anywhere Mouse MX bears Logitech's multiconnective Unifying receiver and glass-tracking Darkfield laser, but $80 is too much for a portable mouse--especially when the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 costs half the price for almost the same features.

Summary: I was sitting on the couch and knocked this mouse off the arm rest into a large glass of ice water. I thoroughly dried it out and put the batteries back in and it worked. While I don't recommend this test I was amazed that it worked! 6 months later I am still using this mouse every day I travel. Logitech gets all my business now!

Great successor of VX nano now with added features.
by rogimk on January 12, 2011
Pros: Unifying receiver to connect multiple Logitech devices.
High quality plastic.
Heavy body improves mouse precision.
Dual wheel function. Click on the wheel switch between smooth hyper fast scrolling and line by line scrolling.Cons: Big price tag.

Summary: M905 is great compact size, notebook mouse, small, and made of high quality material. Unlike previous models that used 2 AAA batteries M905 uses 2 AA size batteries. As a result the battery life is longer and mouse is heavier that contributes to mouse precision and feel.
Handling, performance and precision are great. Dual function scrolling wheel is a great feature that I find it very useful (more expensive full size M950 for some reason doesn't have this feature). I normally keep the wheel in slow scrolling mode but when scrolling through big documents I switch to hyper-scrolling. M950 uses hyper-scrolling only which is very sensitive as the wheel spins very easily even when touched very gently. I find this annoying is some situations because it require more handling of the scrolling wheel. Dual wheel function on M905 solves this problem.
I don't really use scrolling on glass but tested in on window and worked perfect. -

Glass-Enabled is GREAT, Stable Wireless N is PROBLEM
by headsoprano on December 8, 2010
Pros: works on glass desk great, size is good, and I like the push button toggle for scroll type.
Cons: giving me intermittent vertical scrolling and click results (clicking on a link or refresh often does not submit), and drastically reduced wireless speed/refresh w/N card & DLink DIR-655 Extreme GB Router. Hope for driver upgrade to fix the latter.

Elegant, love the weight, good for my smaller hands
by MzOzzieYz on December 2, 2010
Pros: Using this mouse is like skating whereas my old mouse is like dragging plastic around on my desk! The weight of it really makes a difference. Your hand really connects and the mouse stays on the desk. I prefer a smaller mouse and this is perfect.
Cons: Only complaint is that it takes a bit of strength to click to toggle the scroll wheel, but that said I still prefer this mouse over any other I have tried.

My favorite mouse. Works well for Autocad & Quickbooks.
by gcchiker on September 17, 2010
Pros: Long battery life
Good button location and function
Some buttons programmable
Compact size, but still very comfortable
Button layout works better for me than Performance MX
Slick gliding
Works with Unifying receiverCons: None yet, either hardware or software
Summary: The 2 side buttons are programmable. For Autocad and Quickbooks I make one for the keystroke Enter, the other for Escape. It greatly reduces the back and forth between keyboard ...
Summary: The 2 side buttons are programmable. For Autocad and Quickbooks I make one for the keystroke Enter, the other for Escape. It greatly reduces the back and forth between keyboard and mouse action.
Compared to the Performance MX:
On the Anywhere, the scroll wheel freewheel is controlled by depressing the scroll wheel. The Middle mouse button is the button behind the scroll wheel.
On the Performance MX the Middle button is gotten by pressing HARD on the scroll wheel, and toggling the freewheeling of the scroll wheel is done with the button behind the scroll wheel.
I prefer the layout on the Anywhere.
I'm going to get a second Anywhere for my desktop because having to change mouse habits slows me down when drawing.
The battery like is so long as to be a non-issue. When the original Duracells run out someday I will put Eneloops in it so I can recharge them.
At first it felt a little light, but after using it, I really like it. -
Corrected What Was Wrong
by LWEEL8 on June 24, 2010
Pros: Size is perfect for my laptop, battery life is excellent (especially for one battery), weight is good, hyperscroll is a must-have, forward and back placement is now perfect, on/off switch easy to use, sensor very accurate
Cons: The travel bag for the mouse is ridiculously small. I mean, there's no way this mouse will ever fit in it. That's it.

Summary: I've owned Logitech mice since the first corded laser and this is the culmination of that evolution. The Revolution MX was great but only really for desktops and had a huge USB dongle; it introduced the Hyperscroll. The VX Nano brought the first dongle you didn't have to remove, reduced the size and kept all the good points of the Revolution. Now with the Anywhere Logitech has gone a step further and improved the sensor, which I didn't find lacking before, improved the fwd and back button position to fall under the thumb instead of on the index finger, gave it a bit more weight and has given the Anywhere the best on/off switch yet. It seems tiny but it always bugged me having to press the button on the bottom of the VX Nano. Now I just slide the sensor cover and it's off. Perfect.
I really can't say enough good things about this mouse. I liked it so much I bought the Anywhere Wave keyboard to match, and love it too. The crappy thing is that I'm now in the situation where using anything less really annoys me. That tells you it's a great product. -
failed after 3 weeks.cursor moves by itself
by RayRay2 on May 2, 2010
Pros: some nice features
Cons: too heavy ... my hand actually hurt for a couple of days when i first started using it, runs through batteries too fast...
Summary: Cursor moves out of control to bottom of screen on its own and nothing i could do fixed it. reinstalled software changed setting every which way new batteries (non re-chargeable)......
Summary: Cursor moves out of control to bottom of screen on its own and nothing i could do fixed it. reinstalled software changed setting every which way new batteries (non re-chargeable)...on 3 different PC with same result. Wasted money on crappy tech...again....logitech has no quality control...on a previous purchase from logitech (headphones ) the band broke
had hassle of trying to get money back which i did after quite some time...but this mouse cost me 75$ what do you do send it for repairs and pay 25 or 30$ for shipping.....why consumers end up paying for this junk. my suggestion..buy from a local store IF they agree to deal with either replacement or fixing. no more logitech products for me.
Obviously i would not recommend this mouse...actually i bought this based on a review of sort from steve Gibson's podcast....i hope if his fails that he has enough sense to make mention of it and that he and others like him offering opinions on the Web about products that they should be pretty sure enough information is available before recommending a product..it is not enough to buy a product take it home and think wow this is cool lets tell everybody about it...what if is fails to work after a little while like Dell products.
