- The Anywhere Mouse MX bears Logitech's multiconnective Unifying receiver and glass-tracking Darkfield laser, but $80 is too much for a portable mouse--especially when the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 costs half the price for almost the same features.

The good: Darkfield technology tracks on any surface including glass; Unifying receiver pairs easily with other Logitech peripherals; power button conserves battery life; runs off a single AA battery.
The bad: Pricier than other mobile mice; smooth vertical rocker lacks precision.
The bottom line: The Anywhere Mouse MX bears Logitech's multiconnective Unifying receiver and glass-tracking Darkfield laser, but $80 is too much for a portable mouse--especially when the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 costs half the price for almost the same features.

Cons: too heavy ... my hand actually hurt for a couple of days when i first started using it, runs through batteries too fast...

Summary: Cursor moves out of control to bottom of screen on its own and nothing i could do fixed it. reinstalled software changed setting every which way new batteries (non re-chargeable)...on 3 different PC with same result. Wasted money on crappy tech...again....logitech has no quality control...on a previous purchase from logitech (headphones ) the band broke
had hassle of trying to get money back which i did after quite some time...but this mouse cost me 75$ what do you do send it for repairs and pay 25 or 30$ for shipping.....why consumers end up paying for this junk. my suggestion..buy from a local store IF they agree to deal with either replacement or fixing. no more logitech products for me.
Obviously i would not recommend this mouse...actually i bought this based on a review of sort from steve Gibson's podcast....i hope if his fails that he has enough sense to make mention of it and that he and others like him offering opinions on the Web about products that they should be pretty sure enough information is available before recommending a product..it is not enough to buy a product take it home and think wow this is cool lets tell everybody about it...what if is fails to work after a little while like Dell products. -

Summary: The first time I noticed was the weight of the mouse, It's noticeably heavier than the previous flagship VX Nano. I personally prefers the lighter weight of the VX Nano, it felt more agile and less effort to move it around. Though I didn't appreciate the weightiness of the Anywhere MX, it is still a great mouse without doubt. One thing to praise on the MX, finally the Back/Forward buttons are moved to a "usable" location now, much much better.
On the VX Nano, I could average two months battery life before changing the batteries. If the MX could deliver its advertised battery life, I'll be very happy. -
Great performance, but too expensive.
by mechlady on January 11, 2010
Pros: I love the classy feel. The scroll wheel is very smooth and very fast. I can use this mouse on any surface. Buttons are easy to access.
Cons: Can't program buttons. Too heavy with both batteries installed. Too expensive.

Pros: Nothing beats it!!!
Cons: Don't buy it if you can't afford it. I replaced my Apple mouse with this one. SO MUCH BETTER!

Almost Perfect Notebook Mouse
by delmerkin on October 29, 2009
Pros: Will operate on one of two batteries if needed. Super smooth scrolling. Works great on a clear glass table top and on the bed sheets. Three year warranty. Solid feel with positive clicks.
Cons: Too heavy for a travel mouse. Too expensive.

Summary: I bought this mouse as a replacement for my failed VX Revolution. The mouse is a bit small for my hands and is a bit heavy. Every ounce counts when traveling. The mouse works on one battery. This will no doubt come in handy sometime. The USB receiver is quite small and designed to be left in the laptop at all times. This is good because storing it away in the mouse is a bit cumbersome. I like the Unifying feature that allows some Logitech keyboards and mice to work off of one USB receiver.
Logitech will replace my failed Revolution with a new full sized Anywhere mouse so I will just leave the MX in my travel bag when returning to the office. -
Way better than the blue track laser
by Powerman247 on October 16, 2009
Pros: You can certainly use this A-N-Y-W-H-E-R-E! has a sleek design and doesnt feel cheap in your hands
Cons: Cost. $$ But you get what you pay for.
Summary: You can wait until the price comes down and get it but by then something better will be out.

I has a Microsoft Blue Track and it worked great until I broke the dongle and needed a new mouse.
When I went to the store to but a new Microsoft 4000/6000 mouse. I found this one on an end cap display and noticed this mouse had a sleek look and sturdy feel and offered more options such as the ratcheting scroll wheel I started asking questions about the reliability and if the mouse performs as stated. Well the dork squad in the store said hands down the Logitech MX works better on ANY surface you would use a mouse on. they had both in the back they use on a regular basis and the counter had a polished surface and the MX was just sitting there ready to use and the Microsoft blue track was sitting on a mouse pad. I thought these guys use those mice everyday and would know best and from my in store test at the offer of these helpful guys I found that if I took the Microsoft mouse off of the mouse pad it did perform but would skip from time to time and was annoying the MX would work on every surface they had including a glass table they used for breaks. We all agreed that the MX was great but pricey. If your job is sitting at a desk and you won?t use your mouse on a diversity of surfaces then save your money. I travel for work and never know what surface I will use but I do know that I wont be using it on a mirror but will most likely use it on a glass surface or granite surface and the Microsoft Blue track is way out performed in this area. I used my blue track and loved it but knew its limitations and even complained about the limitations. I was told by Microsoft that the only mouse that would work on glass was one with a track ball I figured I didn?t want to mess with changing but after finding this one I knew it was love at first sight and well work the money to be able to truly use the mouse anywhere.
And in all honesty I think the mouse even works on a mirror just not as well and performs on a mirror just like the blue track performs on granite not bad in my book considering the blue tack doesn?t work at all on a mirror not that I have found a mirrored horizontal surface I needed to use it on yet. -
Great tracking on a variety of surfaces, but expensive
by grldo on September 23, 2009
Pros: 1) Far superior tracking on multiple surfaces, compared to VX Nano
2) Fwd/Back buttons falls nicely under right thumb
3) Nice size, weight, though I have smaller hands
4) Slider on-off button on bottom is nice touchCons: 1) MSRP $80 is ridiculous. I actually paid about half the MSRP. IMO, I think MSRP should be somewhere around $60 for a product like this.
2) Putting the small tranceiver away is more effort compared to the VX Nano.Summary: Overall, I think this is a great mouse, but MSRP is far too high. Finish is more matte compared to my previous VX Nano. I've tried it on both ...
Summary: Overall, I think this is a great mouse, but MSRP is far too high. Finish is more matte compared to my previous VX Nano. I've tried it on both my ThinkPad and MacBook Pro, and tracking is great on carpet, sofa, glass, white and black plastic and wood surfaces. I didn't install the included software -- just not a believer in putting more junk on a machine.

This is the perfect mouse for me!
by mrcrader on September 22, 2009
Pros: Works accurately on any surface. Nice weight and size. RF transceiver small enough to leave in the USB port of my PowerBook G4. Works from the moment the computer is turned on (Microsoft Bluetooth notebook mouse has issues with this).
Cons: Default settings for forward and back buttons do not work in the Finder. I had to download the Keyboard Shortcuts document from Apple to discover Command [ and ]. These also work in other applications so all is good. Horizontal scroll works great.
Summary: I believe this is the last mouse I will buy. It was worth the full price I paid at Fry's where I had to reach to a stack on ...
Summary: I believe this is the last mouse I will buy. It was worth the full price I paid at Fry's where I had to reach to a stack on top of the shelves, and in the wrong area, to find one. My purchase was based on a writtien comparison with the Microsoft alternative and my experience with a Microsoft Bluetooth notebook mouse. It is a worthy successor to the VX Revolution I have used at work for more than a year. I am now waiting for a wireless numeric keypad that is compatible with the 'unifying' transceiver.
