Without a doubt the BEST cordless mouse on the market.

Summary: I have tried and hated 3 different cordless mice from the MS Blue Mouse to the Logitech Media Mouse. This mouse was advertised as the FIRST laser mouse and even though it was $80 when I bought it I decided to give it a shot. Boy am I glad I did.
Most cordless mice use rechargable NimH batteries but the MX-1000 has an internal Lithium-Ion. I only have to drop it in the recharge station about once a week and that's with about 30 hours of use.
The feel of the mouse is also great. While it's too bad Lefties are out of luck right-handed people will love it. The problem with most mice that are designed for either hand is that it's a trade-off... all can use it but not as well as something specifically designed for them. Usually after using a universal mouse for a few hours my hand would start to hurt. Not so with the MX-1000. It is designed with comfort in mind and now I can use it for hour upon hour with no cramping.
Whether or not this would a good mouse for Gaming I can't say as i'm not a gamer.24 out of 25 users found this user opinion helpful.

Very good but...

Pros: Long battery life, general ergonomics
Cons: requires a system restart occasionally, some buttons are difficult to access

That said.. from the day I bought it occasionally does not respond after my computer has gone into standby mode. Screen comes on, I see the pointer but nothing I do gets the mouse to respond (except restarting my system). Battery lights show full power, and the reset buttons do nothing to fix the problem.23 out of 28 users found this user opinion helpful.

Best Optical Cordless Mouse Ever
by bubbletips on June 13, 2005
Pros: Smooth tracking, exclt buttion placement, lightweight, fit's smaller hands, easy setup, 100% compatible w/ OS 10.4.1
Cons: Pricey, nothing else I can consider a serious flaw

Summary: My background is as follows: I was using a Logitech cordless optical wireless mouse (930616-0403). It's an egg shaped mouse that requires 2 AA batteries. Other mice used include Kensington Pocket Pro Mouse 72214.
The MX1000 surpassed my expectations. Trying the mouse shape with my hand at the store doesn't compare to trying it at home. The mouse shape is very comfortable for my men's glove size 6.5. All the buttons are very useful. You can scroll up, down, right, and left without using the scroll wheel, nor click on your computer screen. The only improvement that I might suggest is to enable the mouse to scroll in larger steps (1/3 page) under the mouse setup. Setup itself was easy. It was compatible with my OS 10.4.1 The only caution is that one needs to select "advanced click" and set it to button 3 if you want to make your scroll wheel button activate expose. I paid $50 and waiting for a $10 rebate from Logitech.16 out of 16 users found this user opinion helpful.

The mouse that makes other computer mice envious.

Pros: Rechargeable, Cordless, Durable, Laser - 10 + times stronger than Optical mouse, The most comfortable - Best Ergonomically Shaped Mouse!!
Cons: Not one person I know who has used this mouse has found anything wrong with it; it has not failed any test we've put it through (see review).

Summary: This mouse is more close to perfect than any mouse ever imagined, built, or sold before it. This mouse has a laser - which is 10+ times the strength of an optical mouse - a great ergonomical shape, with a stylish look to boot, and is very comfortable for several hours of use, daily. It is rechargeable - which isn't very often since it reserves its power when it's not in use, plus has a on/off switch on the underside of it. Several buttons on the mouse itself, each giving you the ability and option to scroll up, down, left, right, zoom in and out, go back or forward on your browser pages, etc., as well as see how much battery life is left by the LED indicator on the top of the mouse. This mouse is awesome and after months of long hours of daily use (everyday since it was purchased!), dropped off the desk a few times (my bf is so clumsy), and being left off the charger for days at a time plus being used for hours, if it can survive my bf, male roommate and work just as incredibly perfect as it had the day it was taken out of the box, brand new, then it's worth every penny we paid for it. There is not a better mouse, in my opinion, on the market for consumers at this time.

Great for everyday use, bad for gaming

Summary: I purchased this mouse as a replacement to my existing gaming mouse, a simple Logitech MX310. After a couple of hours use, I began to realize why my friends had told me to stay away from these kind of mice for gaming. 9 out of 10 times I'm able to score headshots in Counter Strike: Source, I have very strong aim. After a day of gaming using the new mouse, my server record had been horribly tarnished. Contrary to what some may tell you, high sensitivity can be a very bad thing for gaming.
That having been said, I also use this mouse for my home business, where I do custom web and software programming. For strict OS and app usage, I couldn't recommend the mouse higher. The sensitive and smoothness is a god send there, and the comfort the mouse provides is top notch.
If you're looking for a mouse, go with a Logitech gaming mouse, or a corded optical. They'll provide better performance for you. If you're looking for a top notch everyday use mouse, you can't go wrong with the MX1000.7 out of 7 users found this user opinion helpful.

comfortable and smooth..anti carpel-tunnel syndrom
by dhm4me on March 5, 2005
Pros: lots of buttons right at the tips of your fingers, smooth, comfortable, rechargable, battery lasts for like 1 week with continuous use, awesome software with more features, perfect for gaming
Cons: at first you will feel weird when you start using it, but that is natural since the ergomic design is much better than a typical mouse

Wait for the MX3100 combo
Pros: Great features; very accurate.
Cons: Price; will not work with other Logitech cordless keyboards using the mouse's cradle. The only Logitech keyboard that will work with it will be the new mx3000 keyboard, but Logitech will not be selling it separately.

Beware idiotic repositioning whiners.
by Revrant on June 6, 2005
Pros: Fantastic deep grooves, long battery life, short recharge, no batteries to replace, fast scrolling, side scrolling, Alt-tab button, long range, very comfortable.
Cons: Not the advertised battery life though still long, NOT for left handers, repositioning?

Summary: Let's get this repositioning nonsense straight, that's what this entire opinion will be about, when you LIFT the mouse off of the pad, you must LIFT it more than a full inch to make it stop tracking, and thereby create this momentary lag.
Therefore you are one sucky FPS gamer if you're LIFTING the entire mouse off the pad, fuller than an inch, dragging to BACK down, and putting it down in the middle of a fire-fight, if you have some strange tendency to fully lift a mouse high off the pad during intense gaming, then stay away, though I don't do that, maybe, just maybe, I'm a freak of nature for it.
Excellent mouse, the only good Logitech mouse I've ever had.4 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

Fantastic!
by mohitshewaramani on December 26, 2005
Pros: Very comfortable, precise movement, useful buttons
Cons: Minor con: have to recharge often
Summary: (I would rather give it a near perfect rating of 9.5, instead of a perfect 10, but that is unfortunately not possible.)
I bought this mouse after looking around ...Summary: (I would rather give it a near perfect rating of 9.5, instead of a perfect 10, but that is unfortunately not possible.)
I bought this mouse after looking around for the most comfortable mouse, and I couldn't be happier.
Comfort: Even though the main selling point of this mouse is its laser tracking, I bought this mouse for its comfort, and it didn't disappoint. The deep thumb rest, and the overall design of the mouse makes it very user-friendly.
Laser Tracking: Although I didn't notice a major difference from optical tracking, this mouse is adequately precise in its movement and pointing.
Multi-Function Buttons: The mouse has buttons for the following functions: Back, Forward, Quick Application Switch, Fast Scroll Up, Fast Scroll Down. It also has a sideways scroll feature. In general, the buttons are very useful, and are well-placed. The main 2 mouse buttons provide satisfactory tactile feedback.
Battery: This mouse has a built-in, rechargable, Lithium-Ion battery. This battery is charged by putting the mouse in the supplied cradle, which also acts as the wireless reciever for the mouse. The battery is non user-replacable. I'm a power user (I use the computer for at least 8 hours a day - usually more) and the battery easily lasted me 3 days without a single recharge. However, since I have got into the habit of putting the mouse in the recharging cradle, the battery gauge almost always shows full. Once you get into the routine, the rechargable battery proves to be a big convenience.
Size: The mouse is definitely on the bigger side, although it feels good in the hand, and fairly sturdy. No flimsy plasticy product here.
In general, the product is well worth the relatively high cost, and I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase!3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.
