I would not recommend this product to others.

Pros: Comfortable. Reliable USB connector.
Cons: Very poor mechanical action of mouse buttons. Signal interceptions (clashes with other devices).

Summary: I have tried many computer mouse devices, and I must say that I am quite thoroughly disappointed with this Logitech mouse. :( The design/appearance is not bad, and the mouse fits comfortably on the hand (especially for a notebook mouse). However, I have experienced a number of performance flaws with this mouse in particular. First and foremost, the clicking is just horrible. A single click very frequently results in double/multiple clicks--and the same vice versa. This poses many problems with even the simplest tasks. Simply dragging files on the desktop, highlighting text, or selecting a tab in Firefox can be troublesome. Secondly, although the wireless reception is up to standard per se, it is easily interrupted by other signals. In other words, expect to experience delays in your mouse if you are to keep your cellphone nearby. This mouse will momentarily stop working when you receive a text message or phonecall. :(

Summary: Turn the package over and see all the nice things this mouse can do. Open the package at home and discover a six hour download [dial-up] to get all those nice features. For me,that's a 40-mile round trip to the nearest library broadband computer - about $8 in gas. Guess what? On the back of the package in print half a millimeter high [invisible without a magnifying glass] it reads "To enjoy all of the features of your mouse, download mouse software drivers at www.logitech.com/downloads. Hardware that is incomplete without its software but advertised as a complete product is not worth buying.

New V220 not as good as the old one
by Tigralady on January 31, 2008

Summary: Perhaps its just me, but the new V220 mouse is not equivalent to the old one - so buyers beware. This one wouldn't run at all on the top of my black desk - my old one did. I was looking forward to the new smaller size of the current V220 since I use my mouse on the top of my laptop most often. Sorry to say, I decided not to keep the new V220 due to the slowness and hesitation of movement. The price is right. The size is right for me (woman). I wanted a cheaper mouse since I transport my laptop fairly often and always run the risk of dropping my mouse.
Also, Logitech's web site needs help - in order to find out how to insert a battery, you need their "manual". In order to find their manual on their web site, you MUST use the word "manual", not battery or any other operational word search. I ended up paying a long distance call charge to find out I was not pushing in the cover release button far enough and/or had my thumb in the way of the cover popping loose. VERY frustrating. Also, their email support needs modification because I got an error message that said I needed "a value" but I could not see any field on their screen to which that message applied, plus it required system and part information that had no relavance to the question I wanted to ask. Oh, yes, and the part number they wanted was inside the battery compartment which I was trying to open. Come on folks! The new battery cover release buttons are a fine idea - the old V220 just didn't have that, plus without being able to see an illustration I had no idea my thumb/finger was in the way.
Since the old V220 served me well for over 3 yrs and much better than the new version, I can't help but wonder if the changes were made purposely to drive buyers up to the next price level????1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Decent Mouse and it works great for desktops!
by rtobias71 on June 21, 2011
Pros: Small size.
Comfortable.
The sides of the mouse have rubber for good gripping.
Responsive.

Summary: This is a great mouse if you do not wish to spend over $29 for a wireless type. You have to download the software from Logitech.com though, since it does not come with an installation CD. The software lets you configure the mouse button, even for volume control! The middle scroll button has a left and right movement in addition to the basic scroll, so that is a plus. If the range was better for the wireless receiver, I would have gave 5 star rating.

Great cheap mouse, a few tiny issues
by EZInfo on April 26, 2011
Pros: It's small yet still is comfortable. The 1000dpi tracking is quite smooth. It also includes a name brand battery rather than a cheap off brand like many others do.
Cons: The mouse buttons are a bit noisy. It's confusing at first how you insert the battery. There are no markings that tell you which way to insert the battery (+ and - terminals).
Summary: It's cheap and it works well enough. Also, it tracks much faster than other mice, which could be handy since it's often hard to move accurately with a ...
Summary: It's cheap and it works well enough. Also, it tracks much faster than other mice, which could be handy since it's often hard to move accurately with a touchpad even if you can with a desktop mouse. Putting in the USB adapter turns the mouse off, while pulling it out turns it on. It also has no browser back/forth buttons like my Logitech LX7. But at just $15 (amazon), can you complain?

Black/Gray v220 $10 great value at CompUSA 03/31/11
by jkeese on March 31, 2011
Pros: - Works on the rough fabric arm of my sofa just as well as a mouse pad.
- Price
- Uses 1 AA battery (included)
- Great size: not too big or too small
- Comfortable
- Off switch
- Not jumpy when transmitter is connected directly to the computer's USBCons: Good idea to download the software for the mouse so you can program the wheel as a 3rd button.
I programmed it to close the browser.
The software allows a large number of options to customize the buttons.Summary: Great mouse that allows customization of buttons with downloaded software from Logitech.

Nice size, comfortable, a little jumpy
by burnthedevice on January 14, 2011
Pros: Size, the finger contours on the side, came w/ Duracell AA battery, and only takes 1
Cons: A little too jumpy, minor difficulty downloading "full features" on logitech's side.

Summary: My first optical mouse. I wanted to get one because I just got a new laptop and I didn't want to wear out the onboard buttons--quality control isn't what it used to be. I thought the mouse was too small at first, but it's fine. Really like how it's contoured to your fingers on the side...good ergonomics, for my hand anyway. It seems a little over sensitive, but I'm getting used to it. (Almost miss the feel of my wired mouse when it got some dust in it!) My biggest problem was downloading the full features from logitech's website. I'm not computer illiterate, it just seemed like the process was more complicated than it needed to be. I dunno...I was really tired at the time. Also, the installation program for the extra features didn't launch automatically after download...I had to do it manually, and I had to do it twice...wouldn't open the first time.
As for the mouse itself, I like it, and it's saving wear and tear on my laptop. -
Simple, effective. Plugged into Windows 7, works.
by wjs23 on April 17, 2010
Pros: Supported by Windows7. I plugged it in and it worked within 3 seconds. Has middle click button. Very long battery life (1 AA battery)
Cons: Not many. For what it cost ($9 at BestBuy), it performs well. Could have more buttons
Summary: I would recommend this to any laptop or desktop user. I use it with my laptop. It's compact, takes one AA, and just works.

Summary: I bought this mouse as a refurb around April/May of 2009, and I've never had any problems since I bought it. The only problem I was able to find with it is that its range gets killed almost entirely when used in some specific metal surfaces (which includes some office desks). Other than that, I've had no problems connecting it with Windoes Vista/7, Ubuntu/Red Hat Linux, and Snow Leopard.
