Summary: The main reason why I purcahsed this mouse was since I had recently invested in getting a new tablet pc with built in bluetooth, I thought I should have an accessory that utilizes the feature.
Bluetooth is great, but this mouse is only decent. Since you get a free bluetooth adapter, its a great value at 60$, although I have no use for it, my relatives do.
Battery life is absolutely abysmal. The sleep mode evidently doesn't perform. I purchased 900maH (ultra-high capacity, top of the line) rechargable AAA's for it, and they die out every four days.
With normal disposable AAA's expect to get about a week, tops. I am sure you can increase this if you are diligent about using the built in on off button, but who is?
The last quirk is that the mouse is very slow to sync up using the connect button. Sometimes its faster to just cut the power off and turn it on again.
If you hate how un-cool it is to have a USB dongle protruding out of the back of your notebook, then this is a great alternative to USB wireless mice. -
Works ok, but I'm still looking for something better...

Pros: Easy setup, comes with great bluetooth software, has on/off switch and uses replaceable rechargable NiMH batteries
Cons: Lag is much worse than I expected, too small
Summary: I realize I'm picky... but here's what I was looking for:
1. A wireless mouse (preferrably BT instead of RF)
2. A fast connection with no lag
3. ...Summary: I realize I'm picky... but here's what I was looking for:
1. A wireless mouse (preferrably BT instead of RF)
2. A fast connection with no lag
3. Something that doesn't require a corded hub (what's the point of having a cordless mouse on a laptop if you'll have a wired hub coming out of the side or back of the laptop... why not just have a corded mouse coming out of the side or back of the laptop?)
4. Must have on/off switch so I don't have to remove batteries when mouse is stored in a laptop case to keep batteries from draining while device is not being used
5. Must be comfortable to use
6. Must have removable NiMH batteries (I don't want a non-replaceable rechargeable lithium-ion battery)
7. Would prefer a device where the dongle can be stored in or on the device while it's in a laptop case
8. Must have a scroll wheel
Here's how the Targus BT mouse measured up to my 8 requirements listed above:
1. It is wireless
2. There IS a lag
3. It does come with a USB dongle and no hub is required
4. It has an on/off switch
5. It's NOT comfortable to use (too small, for me anyway)
6. It does use 2 regular AAA rechargeable NiMH batteries
7. The dongle can NOT be stored in the mouse
8. It does have a scroll wheel
I was looking for something wireless that would be comfortable to use both on the road and as a full time desktop mouse when my laptop is at home on my desk.
For me it's a bit too small to replace a desktop mouse that will be used everyday. I think the smallest mouse I can use comfortably is something like Logitech's V200 RF mouse. I've tried Logitech's V500 RF mouse but it was also too small.
The lag is much worse than I expected... it's not majorly annoying for regular applications, but I believe it would be too much to play any action games.
Of my 8 requirements listed it passed 5, but because it didn't pass numbers 2, 5 and 7 I'll be taking it back for a refund and I'll keep looking 'till I find something that can pass all 8. So far I think the only one I've seen that will probably pass all 8 is the V200.
Overall the Targus is pretty good, but I'd only consider it if you're ok with some lag and can get used to the small size. I've seen a lot of other reviews that talked badly about the battery life... I've only had mine for 2 days so I can't comment on the battery life. -
Eats batteries for breakfast

Summary: I have had this mouse for a little over one month, and am now having to install its third set of batteries. But, that's not the most annoying thing. Whenever I came to use the mouse after a period of inactivity, it takes 10-15 seconds for the mouse to "wake up". I have to use the laptop touchpad to control the cursor position and click for those first 15 seconds. (This might have something to do with the fact that I'm using the Targus mouse with a Belkin bluetooth adapter instead of the Targus adapter it came with, but I have not confirmed that.) In summary, avoid this mouse at all costs--unless you can live with swapping out the batteries every two weeks (about an hour a day usage for me--other posters have claimed only two days under heavy usage).

This mouse would not connect to my IBM ThinkPad w/ BlueTooth Built In
Pros: it is small and if you want to use the dongle that comes with it then it might be what you are looking for.
Cons: If you want to use it as a stand alone mouse with out the dongle you are out of luck.

The battery does not last long at all
Pros: It is compact, easy to use, portable, automatic.
Cons: The battery only works for two days. This is just annoying.
