  It sure looks nice...but that's about it

  Summary: Fortunately for us, we didn't purchase this microwave, it was installed in the home when built. But it's been less than 5 years and the microwave keeps beeping and you cannot make any selections while it's stuck making it's own choices on the touch screen. Once it's done going haywire, then can we continue to use it. When contacting Kitchen Aid they informed us that we'd have to pay 125 to bring someone to look at it and then pay for any needed parts of labor beyond the $125. If you look at Sears who's approved to sell Kitchenaid parts, most everything is a minimum of $40 with electronic boards ranging from $150-200. Considering the cost of replacing all parts needed for the touch sensor, you'd be hard pressed to spend less than $500. Fortunately for us, the microwave hasn't figure out how to turn on by itself, though we'd probably get coverage if that's ever the case. Also note that the warranty listed in the manual is very deceiving as it appeared that within 2-5 years we'd be covered but that only applied to stoves and not microwaves. For a $1200 microwave, you only get 1 year on the warranty and the next 10 gives you coverage for rust. Rust??
  
  Do yourself a favor and read the reviews for ALL Kitchenaid appliances online - they're terrible and highly problematic. Don't waste your money for something that only looks nice.
