Good basic player but w/the disks not too comact to travel with.

Pros: Good sound and limitless memory via mini disks. Each disk holds 5.4 hour (min) to 3.5 hr (max) of music. You're never limited by the total memory; just pop in another disk. Very sturdy too.
Cons: Uses batteries but not too bad.

Summary: Very good Sony sound quality. Sony lets you vary it on each song you record to the minidisk; the unit will figure out the quality during playback. My disks play around 7 hours each; nice quiet music that I love I record on high-quality; the hard rock or stuff that's just so-so I record on lower quality, not that I can really tell much diff. Each disk hold 305 MB, a case of 5 and your up to 1.5GB. They're color coded which is nice too.
I dropped it several times but it still never missed a beat.
