Super Fast, Easy to Install
by dkoroski on December 15, 2009
Pros: It is extremely fast. It bumped up my speed from 3mbps to over 21. In part, this chage was due to the fact I have a strong connection but had an old modem. Still the change was incredible.
It IS supported by Comcast.Cons: The modem takes around a minute to set up.
Summary: Great Buy. Makes everything so much faster, it looks great, and works really well. Was easy to install too.

Blazing speed - faster than many internet sites!
by Jimsync2001 on December 9, 2009
Pros: It's a blazingly quick "brick with lights". Nothing to adjust/configure once Comcast had it activated
Cons: It takes a little time to "wake up" if it loses power. Adding a wireless router creates a power up sequence issue.
Summary: I love the product. I'm very technical, but hate having to fool around with things to make them work. I know now that I must power up the SB6120 ...
Summary: I love the product. I'm very technical, but hate having to fool around with things to make them work. I know now that I must power up the SB6120 and let it initialize fully before I power up my wireless router. It may have something to do with DHCP and/or network port auto-negotiations. I tried power cycling just the SB6120 and the wireless router stopped communicating.

Blazing fast and easy to install
by Schmutz64801 on February 16, 2010
Pros: Extremely easy to install. Works perfectly with wireless router. Good price for the performance.
Cons: Only one port (ethernet) so you'll have to utilize additional hardware to use multiple connections.

Summary: This is my first Motorola modem and I'm very pleased with it's performance so far. We immediately experienced huge improvements over our Linksys WGC200. Compatible with our Cableone High Speed service even though they haven't certified it yet. Streaming for Netflix and online game lag is definitely a thing of the past. Simple, affordable, effective is the easiest way to describe it. I'll definitely recommend this one.

This modem smokes my old one!
by cgspoon on October 20, 2009
Pros: This modem is small, compact, and inconspicuous. I think it is also attractive. I have not had any problems as of yet. It has not dropped off Cablevision systems in NY.
Cons: The price was a con for me. It was about $108.00 after tax at Best Buy. Even though it can be had cheaper online for about $20 less. I needed it right away.

Summary: I had a an old Motorola Surfboard that I had for about 5 years, it kept dropping off and needing to be reset. I use Vonage so I needed something quick. My wife had picked up a modem from the Cablevision office and it turned out to be a Webstar. What a hunk of junk, I hooked it up and then went to Speedtest.net and my download and upload speeds were about 1.2mbps to 2.0mbps. My old Motorola Surfboard was pulling about 12 mbps. I could not live with such low bandwith. I stream Netflix off my XBOX 360 and the movies kept buffering when that did happen before. I went to Best Buy to pick up a identical replacement for my old Surfboard and ran into the Surfboard 6120. I remeber reading about it and said I guess I'll go for it. Got home Called Cablevison and had them bang the box while they tried to sell me more services. After I re booted my computer and router, I ran a Speedtest through Speedtest.net. Wow, baby my computer was pulling a wopping 15.8 mbps for a download speed, upload wasn't much better than before at 2.0 mbps. But I was beating most ISP averages according to the test. So I am happy. XBOX online is really fast and I am not having buffer problems with Netflix so far.

Summary: Bought to replace my old Linksys modem, as Comcast tech said our losing cable signal was probably due to cable modem failure. The Moto works great, was easy to install, and for $100 works well and delivers the new technology. Unfortunately our problem was not the modem as we still get service drops in evening. At least we eliminated problem from our side..

by vestlynn on September 26, 2009
Pros: when it does keep working its fast.
Cons: Having to restart over and over again by unplugging is unacceptable. There is a reset button on the bottom, under the label. Distroying the lable to reset is unacceptable.
Summary: After paying $99.00 for this product - I going to return it.
